NO BLEACH roof cleaning? Help!!

ARMA has new suggestions for their roof cleaning mixture. The new mixture calls for store bought bleach like Clorox, etc, diluted 50%.
They have dropped the suggestion of using TSP.

We dropped TSP years ago.

We dropped TSP years ago.
We don't use it, everyday. However, when we want the roofs to look especially good, we still use it. For sheer cleaning power, it is hard to find anything better then TSP.

Why doesn't somebody over there enquire to become a contractor (under a fake name...new startup etc), ask for a test amount to try and go and get it chemically analyzed to find out what it's made up of??

I realize this post is a few years old, but I am curious as to if anyone has actually used the sodium per carbonate based cleaners to wash roofs on a regular basis and to what degree of success (and I'm not talking about the roof shampoo thing). SH is such a widely used product for cleaning, I begin to wonder if it's "don't fix what's not broke" or a reluctance to change. I mean no disrespect to anyone in the roof cleaning business. I realize that in bulk and mixed down, it's a very cost effective solution that works and I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I've done some deep digging on this forum regarding this issue and I don't see much on the positive side for the sodium per carbonate, and there could be a reason for that. I am admittedly a newbie to all things surface cleaning, so I'm honestly just looking to learn. I read on the ARMA website regarding the 50/50 laundry bleach and water method. I actually sent them an email regarding alternative cleaning methods, but I'm always interested in what the professionals have to say since you guys are the ones in the trenches every day.

I have noticed this as well lately. If you do a local search for roof cleaning or pressure washing im noticing that there are pages soley dedicated to informing customers not to use the appeoved methods saying that it's actually causing damage. People believe anything they read on the internet nowadays.

New Port Richey Pressure Washing

Every year we see new roof cleaning and pressure washing scams about not using bleach. Tampa is full of scammers claiming to not use bleach.
It sure is Kory! One Tampa Area company that cleans roofs is advertising that they clean roofs with Green Wash, seriously!
