PAST PWNA Presidents, where's the current one. Anyone want to hear from Him?

I am not sure how many people actually believe this propaganda but it could not be further from the truth. I would love to sell everyone on the idea that PWNA & IWCA convention is the best thing since sliced bread but I would prefer to talk on the phone.

In the history of PWNA we have never had a show this big with so much to offer our membership. Imagine, we have the strength of another organization to help pick up the bill. Conventions, speakers, and coordinating are not cheap or easy. This is no different then paying for couch and being put into first class for no additional cost

Do you think it is really the intention of IWCA members to steal our local business?
How much does it cost to start window cleaning compared to pressure cleaning?

I have no problem with criticizing PWNA because we can always use improvement. Let us work together constructively towards progress. One of the reasons we started our own business is for control and your membership to PWNA also gives you a stake of control. My door is always open and I am willing to listen to any suggestions; exercise your right.

PWNA members, What the board been doing?
Many & great things,

1. Securing certification testing locations throught the US.

2. Finalizing the agenda, classes, speakers, workshops, exhibitors, activities, meals demos etc for Pittsburgh, Pa. Oct 31- Nov3, 2002

3. Building the new PWNA web site, BBS, live chats, contractor referral system, certification and member listings, mentoring help , member and non-member area, store, etc. stay tuned it won't be long.

4. Finalizing Environmental brochures for members to purchase, all members will be sent one and can order if they want. This brochure is really cool, and is designed to promote your pressure washing buisiness. remeber that the more you order the better printing price we all can enjoy.

5. New Board member Kevin Veeneman from Cincinatti, Oh. accepted the nomination as board member. Daryl Mirza tendered his resiganation as treasurer, Paul Horsely accepted the treasurer position.

6.New membership billing system in place.

7. New accounting system is up and running, giving us a more detailed and accurate reporting system.

8. New Safety training program to be offerered at conventions.

9. Finalized Las Vagas convention, March 8-13 2003 Rivera Hotel

10. Finalized location, Dallas, Tx. Feb. 10-15 2004 Hotel inter-continental. This will be a joint convention between IWCA and PWNA.

11. Motion to increase certification from 3 years to 5 years, Board decided to leave all certification at 3 years.

12. Pete Marentay Chairman of the Safety/ certification/environmental committee asked if any members would be willing to help him..If interested please contact Pete at 770-277-6363 ext 23 est. or e-mail at marentay@mindspring.com

13. Thinking about developing a past president's advisory board.

14. Membership campaign will be starting soon, we are develping CD rom's and videos of past shows etc to excite people to join our organization.

15. Still building the Vendor discount program, so If your a vendor and wish to join and advertise your product and offer a discount to potential member customers, please contact us.

16. Dues discount program, still working on ways to lower the cost to members, possibly discounts to members with 3 or more years, possibly discounts for going to conventions etc.

These are just a few things in the works, and my way of sharing to the members and non-members what the PWNA is working on.
Any comments may be directed to me at woody642@mindspring.com
Thank You Chris Detter
President, PWNA

Best thing I ever did in business was join the PWNA. My business has grown 10 fold. I have learned so much from seasoned contractors and vendors that the cost of membership and attending conventions is minute. But the biggest reason that I continue to be involved is the friendships that I have made with many of the membership. When I leave from a convention, I'm inspired! I leave with a new sense, a new direction, new ideas. I learned something from someone. I go back and apply what I've learned and this always helps my business grow. It's seems like a no brainer to me? I started going to PWNA conventions 12 years ago, I had 3 mobile units(5 tons) now I have 20 of them in three provinces, I attribute alot of this sucsess to the PWNA. I would like it if you all considered joining. It's in all of our intrest to have a strong assoiation! The PWNA has never been in better shape!

One of their main highlights of the show was the honoring of
Robert M. Hinderliter President of Delux Cleaning Supply.
PWNA awarded Robert Hinderliter as the founding father of PWNA
at its 10th Anniversary Annual Meeting.
Robert Hinderliter founded PWNA more than ten years ago.
Mr. Hinderliter had the vision and tenacity of establish an
association run by the power wash contractors for the power
wash contractors. He was the first of only five presidents
to date who have served the organization including his son Michael
Hinderliter President of Steamaway. Mr. Hinderliter's
diligent work on behalf of the association is tireless.
Each time they call upon him to share his knowledge and expertise
he comes through. He has always been willing to help the
industry through his pro bono offerings and services, and many
power washers throughout North America owe their business success
to his behind-the-scenes support of our PWNA. Robert Hinderliter
is truly a leader deserving of this award.
Robert Hinderliter was also presented the 10 Year Achievement
Award from IWCA to PWNA presented by Jack Pitzer, Executive
Director of IWCA. Jack Pitzer will also be joining PWNA
as of April 1, 2002. He will be the new Executive Director
of PWNA.
