P90X

Yoga is the shiz, way harder than you think, after a few weeks it's great!

My brother and his girlfriend are 2 months into it. Our other friend bailed on it a few weeks in.. The sound of it kinda scares me.. But I think Im gonna give it a try when there done with the disks.

I hurt my back a couple of months ago, so all working out or physical activity has grinded to a halt. Its weird though im 20 pounds lighter than normal, and chubbier looking then ever..

I lost 70 pounds and still fat, 60 more to go!

Yes. I read it and found that I was already doing pretty much what it says. Except it says to increase protein and lower carbs the first month, then move slowly into more carbs as you go along. So I just switched to more carbs i.e. eggs in the morning instead of high fiber/ low carb pancakes and tuna salad instead of a plate of vegetables for this first month.

You've got to try "fatsecret.com" Terry. You punch in everything you eat on your phone or computer and it automatically keeps track and makes a chart of your proteins/carbs/fats. It's like having a fuel gauge for your body.

I'm going to catch up with you Terry. For any of you guys who don't know Terry is about 120 years old and has he body of an 18 year old. hahahaha. Seriously, I think Terry is just a little older than I am, but he's in perfect shape. Terry was one of my inspirations when I started losing weight.

I built a home gym Tony in My new house, I do walk a lot and it helps but I have a ton of new fitness equipment in two rooms here, instead of going to the gym now. I wanted to look into trying this system out so I can work out at home and not leave My office.

From the looks of it Tony it looks like you have dropped a ton of weight on your pic.

Ok I found mine http://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/hab/2368676680.html

Going to get it as soon as the guy calls back
P90X anybody want to do it with me?

I did the initial stuff today to see if I am going to keel over dead immediately when I really start tomorrow.

I made it, but just barely. I'm really out of shape!

Starting at 206 23% fat. I'll post before and after pictures in three months when I'm done. If I don't make it down to my goal I'll post them naked like Celeste and Thad keep asking for.

Come on Ron! All you need is some dumbells and a pullup bar! Chris Chappell where are you at? Scott Stone, haven't you gained a little weight since the PHX RT? Come on Thad!

Let's do it!

You have to rehap bro, keep moving man. Its old school to lay around, I know you gotta move slow but keep moving.

Tony, make sure you take measurements, not just scale readings. As you do the program, you'll lose fat but gain muscle so your weight won't change much right away. Also make sure you're eating right.

Ron, all you need basically is some dumbells, a mat a chair and something to do pullups on. We installed a pullup bar in the ceiling in the office. If you're ready to go I'll start over tomorrow. Sundays are a day of rest or stretching on the program.

Terry, Once you see the program you'll probably just recognize it as a bunch of old reworked moves. But it's the fast pace and switchups that keep you going. The fact that you can always stop if you can't go any further is comforting too. I don't think I'd be able to stay on it very long if I just did the moves off a list without the motivation and timing of the DVDs

Nine inches Scott, why do you ask? :) You should join fat secret and buddy up with me on there and let me know how you think I'm doing nutrition wise. You'll be able to see everything I eat every day. I started in November at 25carb 45fat (mostly good fats though) and 30p. Over the course of losing weight I've gone to 55 carb/ 25fat/ 20p. (mostly because of granola bars) Since I started p90x I've moved towards an even 33/33/33 split but again, with the good fats. How does that sound Scott?

About the measurements, I'm probably to old to gain muscle. I'm just hoping to keep what I already have.

P90x is great. You should look at some of the transformation videos on youtube. Very inspiring. I did one round and lost 30 lbs and I didnt follow the diet plan. I have since gained most back. I found the program to work well, it takes the guess work away. Push play, follow the moves at the best pace you can and you will get results. They make it pretty clear that you might not be able to keep up, just keep trying. Track everything. I was amazed by the inches you can lose without losing a lot of weight. As far as your age Tony, I have seen guys older than you get crazy ripped. I have been planning on starting again, it just takes some dedication which I am finding hard to get started. I need to make a change, I want to be around for my family. Good luck to you guys and BRING IT!!!

Ron, I'm going to call you later. I'm starting the program all over again from day one today. Shelly's going to do it with me too. She's already gone down over 20 lbs from when we were in Charleston. That was the heaviest she'd been since she was pregnant. She's made a goal to hike all trails on Mount Charleston over the summer after doing a tough one yesterday. We can do one next time you come up.
