How to get more FB likes when people land on your business page.

It is no secret that facebook is a big player in your marketing. With over 500 million users and over 700 billion minutes a day used by facebook members, this is more than Google and YouTube combined.

The problem is that most businesses are doing it all wrong when it comes to landing pages. They choose to use the default landing page of the WALL which has no call to action. You need a call to action to get users to like your fan pages.

I have seen a lot of pages that use a lot of graphics to get their point across and even though it looks pretty, it looks too much like advertising that turns many away. You need a simple design with text that seems like you are giving them something special.

The wall is were you need to run your specials and sales. Give your followers that special deal that they can pass on to their friends.

I can tell you from experience, that text gets more clicks than images. I have 4 sites running now that all have adsense and banner ads on them and the text ads generate more clicks than any other ad type.

So with this, minimal graphics combined with text and a call to action is the best configuration for your landing pages. Especially if you can personalize it. (pull in the customer name when they land on the page)

Here is an example of what I am talking about.

When you go there click the like button to see how things change. You can then click unlike on the left hand side. This is a demo only. Once a user clicks the like button, the next time they come to the page, they land directly on the wall and do not see the other 2 pages.

It has been proven that your landing page conversion to likes improves 200-300% with a custom page versus just a plain default wall page.

Good luck guys and have fun.

It's like any other marketing that you do Ron, you have to TELL people what to do. If they think they are getting some special deal all the better. They will click the like button to see what deals you have. Now you basically have an opt in list to market to. Continue to show your work like you have been and then run monthly or weekly specials. How many people do you think actually click on an unlike button? Unless you just spam the hell out of facebook, not many will. Others don't even know how to unsubscribe.

Pat, I have done nothing with my facebook page, I am not sure what to do with it but would like it to do what you are talking about.

Can you post more examples of what you are talking about so we can see them?

Thanks.

Chris, that is the template that I use to make these. All I have to do is change the wording, logo and some photos to fit the business. I have templates for auto repair, painters, electricians, plumbers and roof repair. Keeping it short, simple and making them take an action is the key. Too much information causes people to not act. The sole purpose of a landing page is to get them to click the like button so they will basically opt in to your marketing campaign. If they can land on your wall every time there is no need for them to hit the like button and thus they are out of your marketing circle and may even never return to your page.

The good thing is that FB is free to market on. A lot cheaper than mailing postcards or printing flyers. You can also hit these people again and again with different offers. Like get your house washed and get a free gutter cleaning or something to that effect.

People like their sites to be pretty and flashy and that is OK for a business site. On the other hand there are people out there making tens of thousands of dollars every month with some pretty crappy looking sites. It seems that the worse it looks the better it seems to convert.

I tried creating a facebook landing page. I think its gonna save a ton of marketing time when customers like your facebook page because your everyday posts will keep you in front of them constantly.
My wife is on her facebook page all the time.
Might as well offer discounts for people to like your facebook page...
