I love reading about failure. They're good lessons about what NOT TO DO.
 
Sales Mastery by Chuck Bauer. Started Good to Great and got bogged down in all the small details. Dave A and Kory hit it on the head Take care of your people. Employees and customers.
 
I get that yet they still failed because they all ended up failing their people by chasing and only worrying about profit. I worked for circuit city at the time the wrote that book. I seen first hand what happend all I can say is FAIL!

Im from richmond,va. Circuit citys hq. Once great but leadership failed them for profits. When they got rid of seasoned sales people on floors that accelerated their demise. Speed of the leader, speed of the pack.

Key people need to be Taken Care of, heres a failure of mine early on. A women Named Nichole who Set up nearly almost my entire system left me for a Job and Pierce Distributors.

I kept in touch with her, after three years she was making 165,000. She was quick to remind me I could have kept her for 75,000 . she thanked me for not paying her because she got promoted vice president of sales in three years. ( western region) She was gold, I was young and didn't see it.

That was the day I changed my thinking about sales people

a good sales person is like gold. my job description at this point is "hire, train, fire." been through 45 people in 3 years. and yes i keep track.
