Now Hiring

You will get a hundred replys from the VEC (state employment office) none of them will actually want to work but will use the fact they "applied" for your job offer so they can continue on benifits.

Its the same situation everywhere you go. Even with a failing economy, people just don't want to work. Even if you can get people to apply, they generally aren't worth anything because if they were they would probably still have a job or least some part time work somewhere.

Hire someone that is already employed and has experience. If I were you I would start looking at some of Ron's techs that are looking to re-locate to the east coast. They are experienced, employed and would require little or no training.

Dittio What Alexy said there are bunches of people here in Nc that just plain dont want to work. Not just related to pressure washing. My one of my friends has a painting business his worker didnt show up for three days in the middle of a big job.The other friend i have does constuction and its the same deal he is framing a house and the worker just stops showing up.Oh well i guess we will keep letting the government keep these folks up until they get feed up with it to.

I recently used Labor Finders. The guy they sent out showed up on time and worked hard for two days. Then day 3, he never showed up or called and we had to finish up this job without a ground guy.

That is extremely common when working with temps. They just need to work enough to pay for their "essentials" (booze, drugs, etc.) and then they don't show up after that. Then they just move to the next contractor the following week, and continue the same cycle. Generally if they don't have their own car or need their per diem up front, just let them go because they are only in it for the quick cash and not for a steady income. Its been my experience that maybe 1 out of 100 temps are actually worth using. Hope this helps you in your personnel search.
