What causes vinyl siding to oxidize?

Anna this siding thing is not my specialty, I’m going to tell you what I know.

What oxidizes the siding. Many elements most often the sun. The south side often is the worst side off any structure. Then we ad on whether conditions dust storms here in az. Cold and hot whether can have and effect on the protective coating.

Bottom line is that the seal is what normally is the thing oxidizing. Almost all surfaces have some seal to protect from the elements. Elements are what keep deck folks who wash house in business.

When you say it’s hard to get off when it gets in there. That means that the seal has broken down and now you have the siding at its un protected state. Just as if your car didn’t have any wax on it. This is when it’s most difficult to clean, now stains have penetrated into the actual surface of the siding,


This is why homeowner should never let the house get this bad. Sometimes the damage is not repairable by just washing or cant take extreme amounts of labor to get it back to normal.
