2 or 4 nozzles on spray bar

Well I busted another spray bar....Well not me but I have to pay for it.lol My guy is killing me on making mistakes. Anyway I have a maxima and its offered in a 2 or 4 nozzle option. What is better? The 4 nozzle is only 10 bucks extra.

...and keep the old bar handy for "mistake orientation"...

id say it depends on your machine, how fast you wanna walk and how much flow you want. I have a 4 bar with 2.0 nozzles with a 6.5gpm pump. i just went from the 2.5 gpm nozzles to the 2.0 and it seems to be a lot better for me. if you had a 4.0 gpm machine you might want a 2 bar with some 2.0 gpm nozzles. i think once you go over 4.0 gpm on your pump you might want to go with 4-bar sc's. Do they even make a 2-foot wide two bar sc? i would think you would get bad marks or uneven cleaning with a wide two bar. unless you put some 40 degree nozzles in it then you might hit all the surface without the problem of walking too fast. I did a tiny mall last night and was very impressed with the even clean and it even blew a few pieces of gum off and thinned a couple out a bit. I cant believe your guy busted a bar. Ive hit mine a couple times on a corner curb or kinda off roading it. I really try to respect the equipment like stopping a couple inches sooner and hitting it with the wand instead of wrecking my sc. Sounds like your guy doesnt respect your stuff. He must be young. He must have ran it over a corner or something to bust it. you could always take it to a machine shop and get them to gusset the bars together but then i guess the weakest link would be a more expensive piece of the sc.

Hey john if you dont mind me asking what size nozzles do u use in your sc? I have 2.0 with 25 degree and i still can get 3000 psi i think its because at 3000psi my nozzles are underrated cause of 2.0 at 2000psi i guess im just pulling that one out my you know what.

Get steel eagle to make you a bar for it or get a local fab shop to do it and you'll not have any more problems. We used to always knock the tips out from rocks or whatever else got in the way we couldn't see

I use four 25020 tips. (25 degree/2.0)

Surface Cleaner chioices.. deck-size and nozzle qty

Maneuverability and flow-rate(gpm) are what picks the deck-size..
example: 5 to 7gpm is super-fast in a 21 to 24" deck
.. if you have 5gpm, stick with 2 nozzles, cuz the impact decreases as you "split the flow"
.. if you have 6 to 7gpm.. use 3 nozzles, cuz you can cover more ground without loosing much "impact".
.. if you need to bring that 6gpm inside a kitchen..
you might be better with 2ea. 12" surface cleaners for better maneuverability,
and twice the work-speed. :)

.. if you have 8 or 9gpm, stick with a 28 or 30" deck, 3-nozzle spray bar will "hit harder" than 4
and you can still go like heck.. .. as long as you have good heat..
if you don't have a full 200 degrees or better, back it up to 7gpm to clean better.
that's better efficintly using the water, and making it easier to reclaim.
Spray-angle.. is the finer-adjustment..
15 degree nozzles hit harder than 25's, but going faster is just as important..
another reminder to KEEP the HEAT up !

The above information is based on "the math", and what customers have brought me "from the jobsite"

over the past 30 years.. I'm not a cleaner.

Try try try, how will you know if you don't try different setups? Large volume, 4 bars and 40 deg nozzles best for me, also I like more 'tilt' on the nozzles to spin faster.
