Pressure washing and steam cleaning business

First I commend you, on picking out a commercial industrial grade equipment! Most guys get them a 4gpm unit and think they can go out and chase commercial or just wash a building with a delevan pump, and then find out really quick that they are way under equipped. Just a word of caution, if you are going to spend 37k on a rig, you may want to talk to Russ about his opinion since he has offered to help and he is relatively close to you. I think you can get started for a far less than 37k, but again, its all in what you want to do. That rig would be way overkill at 37k for residential, but may be right on the money if your going to chase huge commercial/industrial accounts. This is a new rig I am assuming for 37k right? If not, DEFINITELY talk to Russ because you may be getting gouged.

yes this is a new rig. the rig is already ordered. i am looking to get into whatever parts of this industry as possible that is why i have gone with this particular model. from driveways to fleet, parking garages, houses.roofs ect.

not yet but as soon as i have it it will be on here. how do most of you fair in the winter months???????? the business has not been formed yet as i am out of the country and will not return until november

you could try parking garages, if you are buying all that reclaim equipment, I dont kno what else you would really use it for? But if you talk to PARC, who has most of the garages, they are going to ask how many years you've been in business, and they want atleast someone with a couple years, so you'd have a ways to go there. Probaly ur best bet in this area is going to be residential.

i want to do all aspects "no matter how big or small i have a rig to do it all" So gillian you only do fleet washing?

Should have told them to get you a bigger engine 26 hp can get you 8.6 but it might not get you the pressure you need, maybe in the 2600 2900 psi range if its not to late tell them you need a bigger motor at least 30 hp.

i am the type of person that likes to buy something once and be done. not have to pass up a job because i did not get a piece of equipment from the start. Thats why i have ALL OF YOU my new found mentors

I did it the other way around....built the sales first then "tried" to build the capability and all I got was a tee shirt and another lesson in trust. Your way might be best...you can sell the rig if things don't work out.

looking to get into as much as possible from driveways fleet washing roof washing whatever can be clean basically and Rgilliam it maybe the richest but im not. i just want a rig that is capable of taking on any job and doing it right and haha ron

Keep doing your research. A rig like that would need to be used to it's max (high volume commercial) for break-even point and you MAY not want to spend much time doing residential with it.

Best thing to do first would be find someone not in your market that would do some labor for learning. Go work with them for a couple days or a week. If you actually like and enjoy it then they could get you started in the right direction. I'm in Nashville, TN. You are welcome to come down here anytime you want.
Shaun, I never see you around. Are you doing mostly commercial here? We should hook up some time.

Talk about putting the cart before the horse, That could be a big matzaball out there if you dont put that rig to work. Just remember if things dont work out you will only get pennies on the dollar for this equipment. No doubt having that kind of drive is great but I think most here who have been doing this for awhile have grown with the equipment as needed, but this is all water under the bridge if you already ordered it.

Most will come here and fiqure out what they need and also go with a distributor who has a track record of standing behind their products. All the distributors here are top notch suppliers of this industries equipment, and have the knowlege to back it up. Comming here to learn as you said is a good thing but the first thing to learn is what type of equipment to buy for what type of work you are going after. Good Luck to you looking forward to seeing the rig.

Same here, I've never seen you. haha. No, not mostly commercial. A little bit of both but more residential. Things are slooowww for me right now so yeah we should get some lunch sometime soon. Pick a day!

Yeah, i'm just squeaking along with some repeats, my door hangers will be in tomorrow and waiting on some readyseal for a deck job.
