I am looking at purchasing a TS2021 with the gear box to run with a 13 HP. Does anyone have any input or suggestions on this pump. I know the TS2021 belt drive is a good pump,..but haven't ever seen much on a gear reduction model,...so any information would be appreciated.
Also,..this pump will be tank fed,..if that matters.

Thanks,
Jeff

Never seen one as direct drive, is that what you mean jeff?

Yes Ron,..the TS2021 with a gear box is a direct drive,.I provided a link.

Jeff

I'm sure russ or Paul will have the answer. I have not seen one but I'm sure that direct drive is universal to many different styles and models. I've been wrong before.

They aren't direct drive, there is a gear box between, so the pump spins slower then the motor. I don't think that the product number is a TS2021. There is a different number for the gear box variation, and it works really well, I had one when I first started up, a long time ago...

You can attach a regular TS2021 to a gear box and attach that gear box to a small engine like 13hp up to 18 or 21hp.

With 13hp you will only get about 2400 to 2600psi which is good enough for fleet washing and house washing.

I have one and I know of at least 4 other guys out there that have done the same thing for the flow, not the pressure for different types of cleaning, not really meant for concrete cleaning.

Greg, how often do you change out the oil in the gear box?

Thanks.

Thanks Greg.

I would get the stronger looking of the gear boxes as they do make several different types or ask your vendor which is the strongest of the few they sell.

The ZGR1000 is the stronger of the two, the YGR1000 is a lighter duty gearbox.

I wont own a belt drive, I have been beating the snot out of these gear boxes for awhile now. I run them off a 24 hp Honda and they hold up well with no belt issues, I have lost a key-way or two over the years just from constant use. But my opinion is that if you are going to put alot of hours on them get the gear box. I normally change the motor oil every 50 hr's and the pump & gear drive every 100 hr's.

Thanks for the info Nick.

Me too! I am getting a 22hp with the gearbox and tsf2021 from russ and this thread helped me understand it all a bit better!
