A way to lose weight

I saw Rocco whatever his name is, doing comparisons on Good morning America on calorie counts and substituting low calorie ingredients.

I don't know if any of you guys are interested in this, but if you guys saw me in Tampa, there can be no doubt that it works!

Occasionally I'll post up some of what I've eaten and the comparisons.

First one:

Lunch today:

2 grilled cheese Sandwiches

This is what I ate:

45 Calorie Wheat Bread (Sara Lee, its at Walmart) 4 slices - 180 Calories
Fat Free American Cheese (Kraft) 2 slices - 60 calories
Butter substitute Spray 5 sprays each slice of bread - about 10 calories

Total Lunch 250 calories

This is what I would have eaten before:

White Bread 4 slices 264 Calories
American Cheese - 2 slices -196 Calories
Butter - 2 tbs - 204 Calories

Total 664 calories

Savings of 414 calories.

That's how I can take in 1500 calories per day, but my body thinks I've taken in over 3000.

Works like magic!

I can post a lot of these if there is any interest.

Once you make the change and find the right stuff it's easy. Then you can screw up and eat out like we did on our trip, then get right back on the wagon quickly. I'm within 5 lbs of where I was when we left on vacation and it's easy!

Breakfast Burrito

Lo Carb Tortilla- 81 Calories
2 servings (equivalent to 2 eggs) Egg Beaters 60c
2 slices turkey bacon 60 c
1 slice fat free american cheese 30 c

Total breakfast 231 Calories

In the past:

Flour Tortilla 94c
2 eggs 158c
2 bacon 54c
1 slice american cheese 96c

Total 402 Calories

Savings: 171 Calories.

Rocco Disperito has that cook book out with all those recipies, sounds like a winner.

My fat butt is very interested in dropping a few ( OK More than a few) LBS..

Diabetes helped me to get rid of some unwanted pounds. However I don't think it's a cure for everyone.

This morning's omelet:

Two servings egg beaters
1/4 red pepper
1/4 medium onion
2 pc turkey bacon
1/8 cup fat free shredded cheddar cheese
4 tbs red salsa

179 calories

Denny's veggie omelet w/ 2 sides of bacon 540 calories

They are about the same size - Calorie savings - 361!

You can get get the calories on all you eat and most restaurants at fatsecret.com. It's free. And the Calorie counter app from fat secret is what I used to lose the weight.

I'll have to pick up the Rocco book Nick. I didn't know about it.

My insurance guy called me today and said he's been on fat secret since I told him about it 5 months ago. He's down 96 lbs and quit smoking last week.

Here's another good dish

Lasagna (For a BIG appetite!)

8oz Extra lean ground Turkey - 240 calories
2 cups Hunts fat free spaghetti sace - 205 Calories
7 oz firm Tofu - 123 calories - (cut into thin strips and baked in the oven till a little brown, then layered)
1 oz fat free Mozzarella Cheese 25 Calories - sprinkled over the top

Total Calories - 592 - THIS IS A GOOD SIZED PLATE

Instead of:

8 oz ground beef - 744 calories
2 cups regular spaghetti sauce 370 Calories
4 oz lasagna noodles 420 Calories
2 oz Mozzarella Cheese - 168 calories

Total 1702 calories.

That is a savings so big I'm not even going to calculate it!

And it tastes good too!
