Really, Ron? Could have gone forever without the photo! (thanks for the visit, though)
Sorry, I just realized I only printed the second page of comments for some reason. Here are the rest.
RUSS: You'll be happy to know there are no longer worm gear clamps on fuel tanks. New strapping system implemented about 5 months ago thanks to feedback.
PLASTIC FUEL TANKS: There are pros and cons to both metal and plastic fuel tanks. We choose plastic to reduce corrosion/rust, reduce water condensation, and to keep our tanks seamless reducing the possibility of leaks from a bad weld on a seam.
LOU: I'll mention the Kawasaki engines and will have to get back to you. I'll also ask about the 3/8 hose on high reach pole or a way to downstream.
There was a comment of perception that our electric reclaim was junk. Ouch, that hurts! Some of the posts are comparing us to a high volume recovery only unit. However, changes to our mobile water recycle system have been made.
GAS RECLAIM: Maybe we'll have one in the future, wink, wink!!

Thank you again, for all your helpful comments.
Denise

Ive got a new sc3009kaf, 8gpm hot water skid with a kohler 27hp and generator..... Tried the burner for the first time today on a fleet wash.... We were using a turbo nozzle, but when we turned the burner on, the turbo nozzle seemed to lose pressure. With the burner off, goes back to full power. I put a pressure gauge right at the output of the burner, and it read 3000psi, even when the turbo nozzle was fizzling. Anyone know why?

So is this strapping system for the tanks something that we can upgrade our machines with?

I have 3 of 4 tanks sitting loose right now, just had another tank "worm clamp" break again this week! Gas expands in the summer I guess and pops them.

I like the steel gas tanks more I guess because one they bolt on to the frame and 2 we keep our machines cleaned and serviced regularly, the tanks fade and look very bad, the Alkotas that are 7+ years old look better than the hydroteks that are 2 years old just because of the tanks. I know that what a machine looks like does not make a machine better but its something I am very anal about.

Also and other gripe is the powder coating, peels peels peels! Alkota 7+ years and no peeling.

I do like the performance of the Hydrotek though so far except for the one blown coil, never ever had that happen before in almost 17 years but it did happen to of of the 8gpm hydroteks in the first few months

Russ I just recently put small framing angles around the tanks with self tappers, working good.

38" hydrotwister s.c. could really benefit from a swivel with a bit larger orifice. As well as 3/8 jumper hose and good god why dont they make a trigger gun with a 3/8" out..pushing 10-12 gallons a min through a tiny 1/4 hole is counter productive to all this heavy and expensive 1/2 inch hose we got plumbed....whisper wash hubs have a very large orifice in comparison...thank you for your interest denise.

Machine shuttind down:
On my 8.7 gpm hot water unit (1.5yrs old) - recently on very hot days, the machine will shut down after running about 3 hours. I know at least an hour later it still wont restart, but let it rest to the next day and it is fine. It has had a full tune up including a (unecessary) new fule pump. Something that may be contributing is the fact that there is another machine backed up to it (un against the fule tanks.) The exhaust points away from the Hydrotek but there is no heat shield between the muffler and and the HT. Is there a part back there that is very heat sensitive or can gas evaporate out of the fule line between the tank and machine?

It is called vapor lock, and can affect your machine. It really depends on how long the fuel hose is, on whether there is a good chance of vapor lock or not.

+On what Scott said check the fuel filter and next try an bottle of gas treatment that ethanol is tough on these engines, last check the coils on the engine.

Fuel filter was the first thing I replaced and I regularly put fuel treatment in both tanks. I put a cap full of SeaFoam in with each fill up and ocassionally do the full recommended amount. I did have to rerun the fuel line so I'll check and see if it's longer than it came from the factory and see if I can shorten it.

Ron: What about the fuel cap? It's not the factory one. I've replaced it a few times...since I forget and leave it off at the gas station:) My replacements came fom Russ and he knew which machine they were going on.

I have four of these machines and had the same problem, until I put electric fuel pumps on all of them. Never had that problem again. The sad part is I called Hydro Tek and Brigs and they did not have an answer for me.

Now they do, I'm sorry for the trouble

I have a ss3500 4.6GPM 3500PSI 18hp Vanguard about 4-5 years old with about 100 hrs on it. The ignitor to the burner just went out (12v). Apparently the burner never turned off when you released the handle, so I'm told. So my questions are: Does the burner always stay on or turns off when you release the trigger? How can this part burn out so quickly? How easy is it to retro fit to a generator?
Thanks

The burner should turn on and off as the trigger is used.

How can this part burn out so quickly?
Usually a battery with low voltage is the cause.

How easy is it to retro fit to a generator?
You can't. Not enough room on the base to mount it.

Thanks
