No More Trips to the Bank!!!!

Siler City, NC(from which Mayberry was derived) is an hour west of me. I don't give my order to the waitress at the diner where I eat breakfast every morning, I don't tell my barber how to cut my hair- they know what I want already. I have a half dozen stops each week where I stop by and sit on the porch to chat with some old gentlemen and listen to their stories. One guy is in his late 90's. I bring him a snack pack from KFC and a pepsi in a glass bottle every Monday when I am in town. He tells great stories and I enjoy keeping him company. I will take the small town life over the city any day. I lived in Tucson back in the early 70's. Dad was stationed out of Davis Monthan for a little while while on loan from the Army training Air Force MP's in Guam. My sister was born at Davis.

I can't wait to get to Mayberry. When I get there I get a pony!

I am fortunate enough to not pay a mortage. The sign on the front door says they are making loans though. Awesome bank. Stop by and tell then I sent you.

Thanks William, I will definitely drop in to see what they say

The bank I will be using once I start my business has a branch in our grocery store. It is nice because I do most of our grocery shopping and I do not think I have seen more than one customer getting help and at least two other tellers available. If it was not for the branch in the grocery store, I would want to use the phone deposits.

My biggest regret is leaving a small town bank...but at the time I didn't have a choice. I moved out of that town and wasn't able to get around to ever get to the bank. They still used the old school calculators to tally everything until about 7 yrs ago...which meant your transactions were processed really slow. But you actually had someone physically looking at your account when it was time to have it posted so they looked out for you on overdraws. They have upgraded now...but the lady is still there that I opened my account with in high school.

Ours is a small town bank right in the middle of the city. It is a South Dakota based bank.

I've never waited in a line for anything. I just knock on the door and walk into the president's office. And I haven't been charged any OD fees or anything like that in years. One time Shelly forgot to deposit a twenty something thousand dollar check and we were overdrafted by over $10k. They just called as a courtesty and told us to try to get down there within the next day or two to get the deposit in.

Sweet!

I lived in Saddle Run in Fuquay-Varina for about 4 years before moving back to Virginia. What a great place to call home. Pig pickin' block parties, dove huntin; and bass fishin' at Sharon Harris, then crappie fishing until the wee hours. And super friendly people. Man, I miss that place.

I don't go to the bank. I haven't in years. My wife does it, and she is old school. She wants to go in and make deposits..

I get work from the tellers. Over the years of always going to different branches they all know me at each branch and eventually figure out what I do. Going in is not a bad thing, I like the candy bars too.
