Pump not spinning!

I noticed the other day, when I left off the trigger, my pump stopped spinning. When it first happend, I thought the belt might have been loose or something. I turned the machine off, checked the belt, it was tight, squeezed the trigger, started it back up, and when I left off the gun again, same thing. I changed out the unloader and it done the same thing. Any suggestions?

Do you have the electric clutch on the system? That is what it sounds like.

I have a suggestion...come see me.

I'm at a loss.... If upstreaming could you be pulling too much soap? Clogged inlet filter maybe? I just imagining the other day what would happen if the filter got clogged.

Is the return hose to the tank clogged/frozen?

I would say to change your belts, they are probably glazed and not gripping. Once the pump has to build full pressure to go into bypass is when they really start slipping. I would be suprised if you havent noticed any drop in pressure lately.

I'm w/ Tony on this. I would think you could hear the belts singing and smell them burning. If your running enclosed, you should have a nice cloud of smoke with a banshee scream echoing through!
Go see Russ!

tru replacing your gun....i had similar problem and just replace my guns, they wear out over time... let me know how u make out..

What did your new guns do to fix the similar problem? What were the worn out guns doing to create the problem?

Tony, im not sure if I had the same problem or not...My powerunits were not unloading through my bypass hose into the tanks, they kept bearing down as if they were still pushing water out the lance... but the trigger was not open but ther was a small slight spray coming out the tip as water bypased the gun valve.. i changed to new guns and problem fixed...but im not sure if this is the same sinario for Gilliam

But I also changed the unloader valves until i realize the true problem...

Was water flowing when the trigger gun was depressed, and what pressure reading on the pump head?

I agree.

Change the belts, i had the same problem once they are burnt they don't smell they will just slide

Very possible, or the wrong belts were installed intially and the contact area is not enough to carry the power now, or worn pulley??

Any update on what you found yet Ron?
