This should have been posted at the UAMCC. Of course, no one goes there anyways.

I don't know that closing it is the best option perhaps a change in the format would be good. There are plenty of boards for chit chat and the like. Maybe make some for members only sections with teaser info to encourage people to join. It could be updated with recent changes in laws and regs for members. I think being able to use it as a resource for that type of stuff and business forms etc would be useful. Vendors could put their UAMCC only specials up etc. Members could also post any changes in their areas or states or add helpful info....just an idea.

Yup that's the way to do it. Members want a place to chat with each other and member distributers can advertise in there for discounts to the members. Definitely makes that board a benefit.

You shut it down, every bb including PWI would get sick of the org talk, and next thing you know the bans are flying, what you can say and can't say goes into effect and then the org stuff is banished off the other bb's.. Heck that even happen when the orgs had there own bbs.

ORG Bb's are a definite benefit to there members if done along the lines what Paul is saying. You nailed it Paul.

I like the sound of that Paul.

I say shut it down. The less talking the better. Think how much better we would be without all the stuff that is on here now. Business would be better all around without any boards.

Closing right now seems popular

I agree with the less talking the better we all probably are. I do think the boards can benefit though.

I think for it to really be a positive all the vs would need to be cut out and it would need to be used sorry for informational and business discussion. I'd even say close it to the public and for SEO purposes.

Of course, I wouldn't lose sleep if it was closed because not a lot happens there.

If pwi closed I'd have withdrawals!

If the UAMCC ever gets off the ground with the new BOD and becomes a good successful org I say keep it. Its good for members and vendor members it can also bring in $$$. If the BOD isnt successful. I say close it. I guess the success of the BB is up the the future new BOD and members

There will always be bashing, someone or many arent going to like something and as we all know from the many BB's out here, it can turn into a free for all, but thats just the part time nature of the BB's

I wanted the BB & The Org closed down just a month ago and now I am in wait and see mode

Its up to you Ron and the rest of the BOD to make it all work. Good luck

I never go there. There has been so much fighting about it and negative posts, it has been pretty unprofessional at times. I would bet there are a lot of unflattering posts floating around in cyberspace. Not sure that I would want my name coming up in searches that contain UAMCC. Just my opinion and it's usually not worth a whole lot.

Its the red headed step child of the bbs world.

I tried to turn it around for a little while, no one really cares, everything positive eventually turns into a pissing match at some point.

Whatever happens worth knowing happens here anyway.

I did offer about two weeks ago to take the UAMCC board and revamp it and run it like it should be, not PWI but like and org board.

I was shot down, they said they would pass the info forward to the new BOD and they didnt want to punt any new pressure on the new BOD?

IMHO, I would think a seasoned admin that was already fimilar with the controls would remove pressures?

Lets face facts, no one cares about it that is a mod or an admin, until the other day I was still getting the new users, no one was even approving them.

I brought Beth on and to be honest her loyality lies at TGS where her attention should be placed in her defense.

I have several mods already that are willing to help if anyone is interested but if it is going to just remain like it is I say bury it and let it rest in peace.

It seems like there is only tons of drama posted here and other bbs about what happens there about treating the bbs members badly, banishing them for no reason and the people running it acting like children (before Russ got there) and not a lot of good things came from there.

From the people running it badly from the beginning, it will be a very long uphill battle to change it around and make it more member and user friendly, only time will let people forget about the nonsense it and the org brought to people's lives in the past years.

I would say to shut it down and keep it closed. Maybe one day in the future if and only if the org finally gets on track, does good things, becomes reputable, treats users and members decently then maybe and only maybe bring the bbs back online and see if the people play nice with each other.

In all honesty, closing it is the best option.

If you want to propose a trinity type admin to cover it with at least 20 staff I would say it might be worth keeping open.

I think Beth heart is at tgs, that's ok because mine is at Nce. I still think she can help.

I just wish we all could come together to build a viable org for all of us. With that being the only purpose.

501c3 are great when they work but a total disaster if they don't.. To many people involved. You have to really want to do it.. You have such a following on PWI that you could have turned it into a privately held org.. I don't know Ron.. Unless your seeing something which I hope you are the non profit is going to be one heck of a task.

Closing is now way out in front.

I think having the poll here on PWI is useless.

There 5 for closing and 4 for keeping it open and 3 I could care less. Way out front to close it?????????????????

Also I think this is a UAMCC members and UAMCC BOD's decision not a PWI. Just my $.02

I would of said close it a month ago like I said in an earlier post, but I voted careless because I want to see what you Ron and the new BOD are going to do with the org itself

John 11 years ago Dan Flynn started PWN because Delco's BBS sucked. Blank Blank Blank , that was every other word because you could not mention products.

We all helped start PWN, then Dan like everyone else hot $$$$$ in there eyes.

Hence I started PWI and donated it to the contractors with no paid outside influence from anyone. Including ME!!!

Today PWI runs here as the only real place contractors and vendors come free.

I simply have kept a promise....PERIOD
