Electric Hose Reel Question

Guy, it's probably just the motor friction. It's nice in that you don't have to worry about it getting loose while you are on the road, but it's no fun when you're trying to pull 500 ft across a commercial roof 50 ft up.

In our case there's usually one guy on the ground pulling it out in advance to help out the guy walking on the roof.

I've never seen one with an internal brake.

Guy,
Try to loosen the chain or oil it a bit. Ours somtimes need some lube.

There's no brake as you suggest. Sounds like something is in a bind.

Look at the motor mount . The way they mount it it hangs out on the side all by itself it is easy to bind up on the 4300 series and the motor will bend it's own mounting trying to reel in a hose that has bound up.

I have a brand new large Hanney waiting to use next year. (Hand reel) I bought 2 of them this year and the other has been great. I guess your not using the electric motor Guy? Let us now what the problem was.
