Business Name

Getting ready to set up the company and have been debating about the name of the company.

I have seen very few companies named after the owner (John Doe Power Washing) vs using a different style of company name (Make it Clean, Dirt Away, etc...)

Any opinions about the style of names, including for or against using your name in the company name?

what services will you be doing offering mostly?

I think it depends on how you want to appear. Just my opinion, but I think if you have John Doe's Pressure Washing it appears a little "mom & pop" and there is nothing wrong with that, but I think "Make It Clean" or "Dirt Away" or Whatever would have a more professional appearance.

Good Luck

I enjoy helping others brainstorm for new ideas and stuff

Jusy some ideas,
-Flat works Power Washing Specialists
-Flat Surface Guy
-
and still thinking...

I appreciate all the responses. I am thinking about staying away from using my name in the company name. I do like that my name is pretty unique however I do think it is more mom and pop than I want to present. I am hoping to grow this business into a company that will eventually employ others.

I am leaning towards Monarch Power (or pressure) Washing. Monarch is a nod to my Alma Mater. I could play on the intensity of the fans here in Tennessee and call it Volunteer (or Vol) Power Washing however I do not like the idea of associating my business name with free work.

Monarch Power Washing has a kick to it!!!

You might not want to use "Pressure" in your business name, if you will be (soft)washing roofs... and i really like "Specialists"!

I agree that using the words "power" or "pressure" in the title may scare customers away thinking that I am going to blast their roofs. Any ideas how to promote the idea through the title that not only would I do work which requires pressure, but also use soft wash. Many of the company websites I have looked at have "pressure" or power in the title but list soft wash in the services offered section on their website.

Got both those words in our name, no problem here. People still relate better to the words "Pressure & Power" that being said once you get their attention then you can educate on different processes of washing and the pressures you use.
