Environmental Pressure Washing Event Phoenix Arizona 2012

Doug Rucker

Roundtable Host 2009
PWNA Directors Jim Gamble and Robert Hinderliter and other Distributors, met in Phoenix Arizona to demonstrate the latest in reclaim equipment.

Hey Nigel, I have a question for you. In the video was the Sirrocco unit ever tested out in the open section of the garage? It appears to me that the Sirroco unit was only tested when it looks to be wedged up against the wall, which with that kind of resistance I would imagine any surface cleaner would be hard to move. The Mosmatic is shown as tested in the open portion with no walls as well as the Sirroco AFTER the supposed adjustments were made.

Can you also comment on what adjustments you made to the Sirroco that all of a sudden made it move so much easier. I own a a Mosmatic 21 inch surface cleaner and found it to be hard to push on driveways and parking lots sometime simply because of the wheels. In fact a couple weeks ago I was talking to Ron about it and he suggested I take the wheels off and use a hove type. I did and it made all the difference in the world.

Looks like ya'll had a great event, but just wondering about the testing being apples to apples. thanks

So we had the PWNA directors at the event from the Central & Western Region right here in Phoenix Arizona. I didn't see any announcements of this Seminar on the Website.

I heard they are proclaiming changes here in My backyard, that interesting news. Last I talked with local authorities Outreach was going well an no large changes do the economic impact on local business people. This is interesting, I hope they will make an official report of there findings so we as contractors can attend next time.

Interesting a director from Ft worth Texas & San Francisco here in Phoenix with out the Major contractors involved.

I will address this with the BOD of the PWNA at a later Date, I'm sure there must be some sort of confusion?

I never heard of this event until recently, I would have liked to have attended this as it had org representation and it was dealing with epa issues along with recovery systems which will involve a lot of contractors around the country.

I would like to know why this event was not mentioned out to the contractors so we all could attend.

Ron, I would have think you and Scott, Ty, Jim and some of the others would have been invited...I wonder why not. Maybe it was just a private thing. Apparently they met with many EPA officials on both the local and state levels at the EPA offices in downtown Phoenix, and the EPA officials expressed desire for a larger event to include Cali and Nevada and other South States EPA officials.

Looks like they are planning another one late this year Christopher cause this one was such a huge success. Look like Tom from Hot n Mitey was there too.

I would edit the video so you don't show the Sirocco modifications (under the dome), kind of like showing some of their secrets and I am not sure that they want the world to know about these kind of things except to the companies that buy them. That is kind of like if someone went and took a video of Jim's filter system, talked about every piece of it and put it up on youtube, I am sure Jim would not like that to happen. I know the dollar amount difference is huge between the two but the idea of sharing info about things that are proprietary is the same.

Have you guys told Jerry about this video so he knows that you are showing this stuff?

All surface cleaners that have castor wheels can be adjusted once you know how and it does not take too long to do this as it will make the vacuum type easier to push and as the kind with the skirts have wear on the skirts and you don't want too much water blowing out from under the skirt you can lower them a little bit to compensate for the wear on the brush skirt.

If they are out there doing this, I think that contractors should be told about this.

I wonder if they are shopping the PWN* bogus bmp's to these city officials?

I wonder the the PWN* members know that their elected officials are out shopping these bogus bmp's after they swore up and down that they would not be out shopping bmp's?

I wonder if the PWN* bod knows what is going on after we were told that they would not be out shopping bmp's?

If the bod knows about this then did they tell their members that this would be happening?

If the bod knows about this, why are they letting it happen when they swore that they would not be out shopping bmp's to cities?

So, let me get this straight:

An organization participates in an environmental event in a state we do business in and only informs the contractors who want more restrictions.

The event and the subsequent lobbying is conducted by Robert Hinderliter of Texas, Jim Gamble of California and distributors, all from other states. All this without notification of the local contractors.

This is a "Clear Voice"?

Who knows what kind of backroom deals and scare tactics by the org, the contractors who want the restrictions and the distributors selling the equipment, were discussed with local officials without any representation of other hundreds of local contractors.

We can't know what went on because it was hidden from us, but this quote from Jim Gamble AFTER the event says volumes:

As the Western Chairman of the Environmental committee of the <acronym title="power washers of north america" style="border-top-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 1px; border-left-width: 0px; border-style: initial; border-color: initial; border-image: initial; border-bottom-style: dotted; border-bottom-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); cursor: help; color: rgb(51, 51, 51); background-color: rgb(250, 250, 250); ">PWNA</acronym>, you better go check Michaels BBS. They laws are going to get enforced in Phoenix. Something that they have not done for awhile. Business as usual will be a thing of the past. These changes may include your bus stop contract. The permit you have to discharge into the storm drain will be voided, if and when this goes through.

Clear Voice?

The voice is clear alright. This has gone past just ignorance and negligence. Is it criminal at this point?

What other conclusions can be made from the descent into states we work in by out of state contractors and distributors attempting to CHANGE laws to benefit them. (yes, I said CHANGE, see Jim's quote above about "if and when this goes through".)

And of course, a direct threat on one of my contracts. He does not realize how he is setting himself up for a lawsuit.

I would imagine that's why Michael took it down. It's potentially involving the association also?

Oh well

So Jerry's machine is totally the choice, I was not clear until explained by someone who translated the video.

At least the sirocco came out head an shoulders above.

Head of the dirty 100,000

It's look's to me they are putting down Jerry's machine. That is why I asked Nigel to comment. Jerry's is the one up against the wall, and then in the video Jerrys seems to move fine AFTER they have made some adjustments. Tell me I didn't see this wrong.

It looks like they were trying to make Jerry's equipment look bad but then after they made an "adjustment" then it works much better. They could have adjusted it wrong in the first place trying to make it look bad then adjust it to where it should have been or where it usually was before this video to show that it could be made better. Either way they are trying to make his equipment look bad.

It is a shame that people out there will resort to these cheap tactics for attention and try to make themselves look better.

In the video you see the hot and mighty rig there also, wonder why they did not do a comparison with the surface cleaner that hot and mighty sells? Because they know it does not work nearly as good as the Sirocco.

Any person with a wrench can make the "adjustment" to the sirocco vacuum surface cleaner, it is not rocket science or any of anyone's "special skills adjustments" that are only known by them. I won't post more about this but people can ask me, Jerry at Sirocco or just about anyone that has one of the vacuum surface cleaners.

I have heard enough about all this nonsense, the "we are not shopping bmp's" and other lies by that org, their people and others trying to get new laws passed just for their benefit. Maybe something legal needs to happen now to slow them down or stop them.

It is bad enough trying to earn a living but with these people in the background doing what they are doing, they are deliberately trying to make things harder for all of us that clean concrete.

I think it is about time to start boycotting these people, groups and vendors and letting it be known to all contractors around the country what they are doing and what they want to accomplish to their own benefit.

It was my understanding that Jerrys machine was the clear choice from the attendees.

The slant that was put on it was by the video editing done by Jim in an attempt to avoid saying anything good about Jerry. He and Cooney cancelled their reservations to Jerrys class when they found out Ron and I were going to be there.

This is petty childish behavior. How long will good honest guys like Nigel keep someone believing his bs. Everything is about him and his preferences. He is willing to take the consensus of all in attendance and make it look opposite.

This is what he does. This is who he is. Welcome to the environmental CLEAR VOICE of our industry.

Tony not sure what you are seeing, but I am seeing Jerry's cleaner slammed up against the wall and whoever is pushing "acting" like he is having a hard time pushing it. Then 'AFTER" adjustments to Jerry's cleaner and not up against the wall, it now moves easier, like the mosematica on did when the tested it again in the open part of the garagage and not slammed against a wall. The person even say's, this scrubber "sucks and sucking is a good thing" meaning the machine was sucking the pavement making it hard to move, I guess. I just don;t see the apples to apples comparison and that is why I hope Nigel will chime in so we can get an honest opinion on what was going on.
