Houston Texas Roundtable Luncheon

Doug or Ron, would you say that this meeting is one of many to try to keep the city of Houston on the right track with all the help that Ron did without any help from the orgs?

Would you guys say that it will be an ongoing work to keep the changes made for the better?

Would you say that with someone out there from the org shopping bmp's (when they said they would not shop the bmp's) and upsetting the city officials there with their nonsense, it is an uphill battle to keep the good changes made?

Would you say that the meeting is to help the contractors in the city of Houston since there is no org that will step up to the plate to help out the city?

Would you say that one of the reasons for the meeting is to have anyone that is interested in the meeting to show up since this has been mentioned on several sites, this is hot a hidden meeting with city officials, this is not a secret meeting with hidden agendas and that anyone interested, from any city or state out there, even New York or California could attend this not-hidden, no-secret agenda meeting?

I think the meeting is a great idea, I am hoping that I can attend, I might not be able to with the upcoming truck purchase and driving it down from Wisconsin.

1) IMO it's more of a meeting to keep Houston improving because of damage caused by an org.

2) YES

3) YES in some ways, in other ways NO. The people (officials we meet with) here in Houston like Ron because of his knowledge, experience and the simple easy to understand way he explains things to them. I am not sure the "shopping of BMP"s here hurt us more than the stupid phrase "nothing down the drain... Houston has BMP's but even if we did what the BMP's say we could be in violation. That is one of the things we're trying to fix. SO in one sense it is an uphill battle trying to repair the mind set here, in other ways, once it is explained they understand and are actually like WOW, that makes perfect sense. Just a matter of getting all the departments and officials on the same page.

4) Yes, while representatives from both the PWNA and UAMCC have been here for the Environmental Seminars put on by the Police Department, no one has done any ongoing work with the correct officials/representatives of the City of Houston that I am aware of. If they are, they have not met with people Ron and I have because they have never heard of either org or the people that have been here from those orgs. Which is good. While the Police Department has heard of them, we need to remember that they are not the ones that can change anything.

5) Sure anyone can attend the meeting, that's why I posted it publicly on every board, including the new PWNA board.

6) Hope you can make it too Chris. We could sure use you.

Thanks for responding to those questions, those were for those that were not sure what the event is for, about and who could attend, this should clear it up for anyone out there.

I will try to be there, put me on the list.

Like I mentioned, I will be driving down from Wisconsin with the Box truck that I am buying so if I am early on schedule I will probably try to find a hotel close by, if I am behind on schedule I will not be able to make it but I will try.

If Gene is going, does that mean Ron is giving away money? As for him being alive, comments reserved..:D
As far as going I will try and make it.......The money giving away by Ron I had to buy Lunch out of it........Hope to be alive for the EVENT

Never helps. Seperate yourself and show why your important. Crying the blues...no one wants to hear it. Show what you got without knocking down others unless you have nothing.

Common Doug.. that lesson number 101 in the leadership world. Quit complaining about others and show why you have a better idea or what ever it is that should make us UAMCC members feel proud. I hope you guys do well here but bitching about others... no one wants to hear it that matter.

Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow. Lots of great info to share.
