This is how we dooz it!

We had to clean a coil suspended high in a attic space with only a catwalk to get to it.

It had never been cleaned. It swayed so much the staff had only changed the filters they could reach from the catwalk. The filters in the back were years old.

It was so dirty the coils had to be split to clean them. Unfortunately access to the panel to split them was on the side opposite the catwalk.

As usual Chris stepped up. If there is any man on this earth who is my hero it's Chris. He has far exceeded any expectations I ever had for him or myself. I hope that by the time he is my age his hard work and persistence has paid off so he doesn't have to work like me.

(I'll tell everyone more about his heroics on this job later in this thread.

Alright, here's a hero story. We use our own mix of sweet love nectar for cleaning these sticky tobacco coils. I'm sure the KEC guys can identify with it.

At this point Chris is tied off to the catwalk because he has already removed the side panel and is able to partially stand with his legs INSIDE the unit and he can hold on.

What happened PRIOR to this was he was all harnessed up in all kinds of directions and had finished using the nectar and removed his eye protection. He went to set the sprayer on the top of the unit and it sprayed back in his eye. We had to help him scramble across the unit as fast as possible and had him climb in the unit from our side and flush his eye for about 10 minutes with the nozzle removed from the gun.

That turned out ok. It all rinsed out and all was good.

Then he went back to work like this:

He thought he was laying in a small puddle of water from the PW. Instead his thigh was resting in a nice puddle of the love.

Once I saw his pants were wet I realized that he was about to have some problems. By this time he was already starting to itch.

He got down and tried to flush his pants. Didn't help.

He had to take off his pants and flush his leg for a long time then later we got the vinegar up there for him.

He couldn't put his pants on so I sent Shelly and Brenda to buy him some pants.

He wanted to finish the job, so he went back in the harness in his boxers and finished. Here I ALMOST got him coming up without his pants on, but me made me promise I wouldn't.

Fun day! Big scab on his thigh today though. :(

I saw the video. Impressive. Of course, I feel sorry that Chris' old man is chicken...

It is amazing to me that with the tar that gets stuck in stuff like AC coils, that people voluntarily put that in their lungs. Of course, that is a topic for another thread.

Nice work Chris

I was really hoping for some footage of Tony doing the trapeze around the AC, probably a better Idea to put Chris on the line.

If I still smoked seeing this stuff would make me quit.
