My EBC review

I received a 16oz sample of Carlos last week and set it aside for a job I had today.

1. The was the sample was much smaller that promised just 16oz when I was told a gallon would be coming my way.
2. There were no mixing instruction, application instructions or MSDS.
3.Clear in color and a mild smell reminiscent of Formula 409 household cleaner.

Now on to the meat and potatoes of the review.

After watching Micah's review and seeing Carlos' video I was able to figure out the mix ratio.
I mixed the 16oz sample with 1 1/2 gallons of water and xjetted it to the area I chose to clean at the job site(not the dirtiest part of the property). This is a 15day account that sees high traffic in the drive thru.I allowed the EBC to dwell for 15 minutes while I cleaned other parts of the property. The treated area was then cleaned with 210 degree hotwater and rinsed.

Did the EBC clean? Yes
Did it clean better than the Lava(caustic mix)I currently use? No
Does it have a home in our cleaning arsenal? Maybe, just not for cleaning restaurant concrete

I have tried alot of products in the last 10yrs and have found few that live up to the hype.IMO,the EBC falls into the average performance catagory. You can see the before and after pics,as well as,a side by side again Lava on my facebook page.

How was it on the landscaping, Scott?
:D

Carlos of you want me to test it Send me a Five, I think anyone testing something for a real review should use it in multiple apps. I would try it on a Nasty Dumpster, I would try it on a Dumpster thats been Clean to see if it can do it better.

I would also use it on gas stations, how will it work on Playground equipment. Is it safe for the kids?

My address for shipping I'll text you, I'm not interested in a sample. I'm not offended if you do not want me to really test it. Text me I'll give you my shipping address, or we can test in cali together also. Just say when after the next two weeks, i'll be in Cali all Summer.

What's with all these "New" miracle cleaners coming out lately? There are only a few chems that degrease fewer that boost bleach, even fewer that do both.....so what am I missing here?

I'm taking a chance on 1 next week, although $100 + for 5 gals ain't breaking the bank I'm not much for "Snake Oil" if it doesn't live up to it's advertised benefits.... I will let everyone know.

thanks for the review Scott. You got a gal coming your way from Jason but you know that already.

Ron...be great to send you a sample. Whenever you give either me or Eric an address like you promised we will get something out to ya.

Good stuff and thanks for the review.
Hey Carlos- I think I gave u my address on a different bb but if not it's 70 park St. Kings Park NY 11754. I could have sure used that EBC to test at this parking garage we were doing at the Newark Airport..

I mean no disrespect to any maker of these products, I guess I'm thinking out loud.

I saw where Eric at Gulf Coast said he mixed 1/2 gal bleach to 2 gal water and 8-16 oz of EBC for a house wash. Then I saw where Carlos said the mix was 1/2 bleach for a 5 gal mix, if true this could mean large savings in bleach use.

Yeah I saw that too. The video says 2.5 gallon bucket not a 5.

It's amazing how proportions change how a product works.

We witnessed it first hand a couple of weeks ago doing some nasty coils over a food service area. We always mix our own mix from powder on site. Because it was greasy I upped the caustic by double and reduced the other parts. It was a huge mistake. Not only was it dangerous to work with, but it was ridiculously inadequate.

Apparently sometimes less is more.

Isn't that the truth. I tried doing that years ago dealing with wood restoration. Thought I could make the wood stripper stronger and also the OXALIC acid when I would X-jet it. All I did was waste money using more product.

Also back in my military days I had two brainfarts that was expensive. My car overheated during a freeze period in Va. That happened because I put straight water in my radiator because it was low which was my first brainfart. The second one was expensive. I filled up my radiator with straight antifreeze. 50/50 mix was the strongest but I figured why not just fill my radiator with straight antifreeze. End result-blew my engine. Had to walk for hours and ended up staying in a friends porch who wasn't home just to stay out of the cold. All the pay phone lines were jammed up due to a high volume of calls that day. My brainacle idea was to surprise my parents by just showing up at there house instead of just calling. Instead they never heard from me that day at all...which was Christmas day in 1984.
