Am I cleaning too many roofs?

We switched to Delevan 5800s. Not many problems in the beginning of the year. Now that we're shakin and moving we've been having enough prolems on 3 different trucks to ask WTF? Pressure swithes and blown pumps. Im sure everyone will ask about wiring, nozzle and hose size, battery distance, its all good. AC said these pumps arent meant to pump to second floor with head pressure and Im leaning to agree. Those who dont have problems: are you cleaning 8-12 roofs a week on these pumps week after week?

This is why I switched to air Ed. We clean a lot of roofs and the 12 volts couldn't keep up. (this at least for us).

Having never cleaned a roof in my life, I would say the air operated diaphragm pump is a far superior and more durable system. Also can be sized for high volume and the power source is inherently better than high draw through a 12v system. But, what do I know? Dultmeier sells a bunch of them.

Ed, are you using an accumulator on your discharge? If not, one will solve most of your problems because it will keep the pump from short cycling.

Ed,

Just updated our offerings through our dealers. They now offer the Pentaflex 7 GPM 80 PSI pump. We have them in stock and can ship immediately. These pumps have a built in bypass in the head and can easily handle 1/2 ID Clear Braid hose and #30 tips. Every SoftWash System goes out with one on them.

Even as good as they are Flojet still has a bad run every now and then but they have stood behind every single pump mounted to one of our systems. Still only expect about a 6 month run on these. Some of our test market got 10 months to a year in heavy use but dont count on that.

The Pentaflex Flojets are great pumps. They seem to be much less finicky and delicate than the Delevans to me.

Paul just went to Pentaflex in his dual pump system and I am loving them. Have had no problems with them. Even on high roofs and using a trigger gun.

Here is the roof we did yesterday Ed..

Thad do you use accumulators?

I have one but I haven't used it with the Pentaflex. I was curious to see what would kill it but nothing has yet- head pressure from heights, small tips, etc.

Oops u are correct. I meant to say flo jet sorry for any confusion

Doug, for some reason this forum will not allow me to quote people ?
I have 2 FloJet Pentaflex pumps.
They are THE best 12 volt pumps I have ever used.
Paul was wise IMHO to use them!
