Brand new industry organization-PWRA Pressure Washing Resource Association

Thad, having been a former BOD at the UAMCC why wouldn't you have presented all these ideas for that national org?

Diffusion of responsibility is a sociopsychological phenomenon whereby a person is less likely to take responsibility for an action or inaction when others are present. Considered a form of attribution, the individual assumes that either others are responsible for taking action or have already done so.[SUP] [/SUP]The phenomenon tends to occur in groups of people above a certain critical size and when responsibility is not explicitly assigned. It rarely occurs when the person is alone and diffusion increases with groups of three or more.

This pretty much explains both our Org's. He's probably not the only BOD member that could have done more. Without a really good leader (are you listening Ron?) most groups slip into "bystander" or "groupthink" mode. Individually, (as Thad proves) most of the people that have served as a director are very creative and proactive.

It really is more serious than that, siting on a real Non profit Bod carries a burden to the state an members. We are having a lawyer look at this org right now. Sitting on the BOD at this compactly without discloser is a problem. Talk about conflict or interest...WOW

I legalities are not really isn't what sits right, disappointing people let you down.

I need to ask members here if they are getting Email from this New Association that shouldn't have there Address unless it was taken from here with out consent?

Who cares Ron....I get spammed from every pressure washing outfit there is. I still get spam email from some guy selling giant suck trucks the size of cement trucks. I even got text spam on my phone from you. People, especially business people, evaluate based on value or ROI. So what value do I see in this? (I'm not trying to pick on PWRA...I'm just responding to the topic in my usual blunt and to the point manner.)

From a value perspective.....for me

Most of the stuff seems aimed at the startup (the marketing section). I haven't hung a door hanger or passed out fliers in three years. Email Proposals, invoices, work orders....all are integrated in my CMS software and in the cloud. We've never used bulk mail or post cards.

The sticker (logo) as well as the directory faces the same issues that UAMCC, PWNA, RCIA etc have....which is that it means little to the customers without a national campaign. As most, I can log into my cpanel and see exactly where my clicks came from and very few ever come from a directory. Most customers never see us or our trucks. I doubt they care what professional memberships I have....other than the bbb and if I had a logo sticker from an association that was big enough to read I wouldn't want it on the truck.

People search for a person to clean their siding, concrete, building, not an association directory. There are people that have been trying this, especially in roof cleaning but with google's local slanted serp's, it is almost impossible. A properly SEO'd website will never lose to a national directory in a local serp and rarely if ever lose to a local directory.

I've never paid to yak on a forum. In fact, the best forums are free and should be. A successful forum has hundreds if not thousands of people providing content that makes ad revenue.

For me, that leaves live chat, discounts, Cert and sticker....$349

Last year I practically begged the BOD to assert their authority and take control of the UAMCC URL and website from the Hinderliters.

I spoke personally to three BOD and was told that it wasn't the "right time". I never understood those weak excuses for not acting.

Now it all makes sense. This pressurewashingresource website was already in place and a fully optimized UAMCC URL would have given it instant credibility.

Is this even legal? Is that why Thad bailed from the BOD the instant it looked like Ron might even be able to JOIN as a contractor?

This is CRAZY! And all that time Thad was calling me complaining about the fact the Ron shouldn't be allowed to join because he was a vendor!

This is what happens when contractors are seen as dollar signs instead of human beings who are trying to support their families.

I think you are overreacting Ron.....just add some fliers, door hangers and a live chat to UAMCC (oh, and don't forget to send a sticker). Their obviously targeting startups and window cleaners.

To be bigger than the Uamcc 1.0 stickers from 2009 this new org will have to provide a full wrap sticker. But never fear, Thad has a new Wrap division that can install that for you! Wraps, window cleaning, org leading, ANYTHING BUT PRESSURE WASHING! LOL!

This is too bizarre to be real.

Nature abhors a vacuum....you didn't need to be Nostradamus to see it coming. All the window cleaning posts that started popping up all over the pressure washing forums, PWNA (CETA light) which has really done nothing for the industry and a UAMCC in constant restart mode.

I've begged Ron several times to start a real PW Org....as recently as last night. I really don't think anyone else could pull it off....including the window cleaners.

Are you really Ron? Are you really having a lawyer look into this at midnight?

The PWRA was put together in 3 weeks by myself and Thad this had nothing to do with his time on the uamcc board.. And even it did its far from illegal.

Ron -
Bummer , I guess I'll stick with www.uamcc.org
