Hey guys!

Ive recently started a mobile powerwashing unit because of the demand from all the dealerships in my area. I own and operate a Detail and accessory shop in MI and have a very close relationship with alot of the GM's here. I was doing lot washing last year for one of them on a weekly basis and decided to put together a mobile unit. After researching on here i have realized how little i know about this industry and feel like i need to play some catchup to pull in the best profit potential. From what i have read im getting a decent price point but i have a few problems and i need some help!!! Theres a few of you one here that i have seen doing very well at this so i hope you will chime in! So here we go:

- Im realizing that a DI system is a must!!! What kind of DI systems are you using and are they cost effective for this type of industry? (@1.75/car)

- I have heard of some using a rinse aid, if you are...what kind and brand are u using and what are your expariences with them.

- What kind of time frame are u completing your contracts in? IE how long are u taking per car and how? I have read people doing 100 cars/ hour! Thats impressive and would love some tips.

- If you are washing and drying cars, what is the best kind/brand of towels or chammois?

- What psi/GPM Pressure washers are you using. Also If you could list your set-up as far as vehicle/Pressure Washer type/ Hose Length/ and DI-RO-or Rinse Aid!

Thanks for all ur answers in advance!!!

- Im realizing that a DI system is a must!!! What kind of DI systems are you using and are they cost effective for this type of industry? (@1.75/car) Yes it is a must. You can damage cars if you are using just regular water and leaving it to dry. We use the 2 cuft tank with mixed resin beads. We pay $75 per tank on exchange. You will need to find a company that does water for hospitals. This will be your cheapest if there are any in your area. If not go with Culligan Water.

- I have heard of some using a rinse aid, if you are...what kind and brand are u using and what are your expariences with them. No rising aid will do what you are looking for you need DI or RO water to be sucessful in this area of pressure washing.

- What kind of time frame are u completing your contracts in? IE how long are u taking per car and how? I have read people doing 100 cars/ hour! Thats impressive and would love some tips. 100 cars per hour, can it be done? YES. Its all in your techinque. Once you get this down you will be moving at a rate of 30 seconds per car most of the time.

If you are washing and drying cars, what is the best kind/brand of towels or chammois? You can use microfiber towels from Sams Club. We only use synthetic chammois. Will take you around 100 cars to break it in. As long as you take care of them they will last you well over 3000 cars before you need to replace them. Wash them everyday in cold water only. NO SOAP.

What psi/GPM Pressure washers are you using. Also If you could list your set-up as far as vehicle/Pressure Washer type/ Hose Length/ and DI-RO-or Rinse Aid! 200' of 1/4 hose. They are lighter and easier to manouver in and out of the cars. Trigger only for the gun with a 40 degree tip. Allows you to use other hand to pull. Easier on the shoulders. No more then 4gpm. You will be wasting water and losing money.

Awesome Info! I have contacted culligan because i do not know of any other places around the area. There are so many different DI style systems out there... im assuming your using the dual 2cuft cylinders. If you could point me in the dirrection of what to ask for when im contacting these companies that would be awesome. Thanks
