Bakken Clean

We are a small company in North dakota who is trying to work into larger contracts in the oil industry. Right now we have been doing small to large fleets of pickup-semi sized. We really want to get into the Oil equipment side such as the frac machinery. Any suggestions or warnings?

Welcome Bakken Clean to PWI. There are opertunities to to wash frac equipment, however a lot of the fracking companies such as Haliburton, SanJel, Pumpco Services, Slumberger, etc. have thier own wash facilities. There are alot of Frac tanks and workover rigs out there which need to be washed. Good luck.

You want into oil, you need to have safety tickets and certifications that will cost you an arm and a leg and take lots of time and paper work. I have some of the requirements up here, but I can find enough work in town to keep me and the big truck busy.

I typically stay away from oil work as it takes me out of town and the wife is very much against that. I know I can make a lot more $$$, but half of a lot more and child support wouldn't be worth it in the end.

Best advice figure out what everybody else is using for pressure washer and find what setups and chem's they use. Many of the setups that go out to the oil are tandem and carry lots of water and are large setups. Also the allowed Chem's are pretty specific due to environment concerns, so make sure you have the right stuff.

Also make sure your liability insurance is enough for the company you are working for, I could see it easily being a 5 million liability.

Good luck!
