Should we Start Charging?

Hey Ron, met a guy today at Georgia Chemical, Sean from Aqua Clean here in Atl. First thing I asked, " Are you on PWI?" He was
 
Hmm. credit card on file, and every time you cause problems you get charged $100. Keep out the agitators and irritaters. It could work.
 
John T alone could fund the server costs for a decade ;) hahaha :)

I think its insane. I would start charging the machinery and equipment suppliers for their banner ad displays at least.

Yeah that will never happen as long as I'm alive. Suppliers will never find anything here ever. The reason this place exists is that it's a place where contractors can speak freely.

Other distributor owned forums this does not happen , they all say it does. While threads get erased disappear or get edited heavily.

Some will get upset but I recently left a forum because of this. I'm not going to support distributors that believe there junk is the only junk.

Here's the reason pwi works, we only have the best of the best .

You have to be a good distributor to hang here. If you suck people will know quickly.

Pwi an staff have no alliance to anyone here selling anything.

All the prizes I get from distributors I give to the community. The distributors that give these understand this will not buy them special favors.

I will not take any donation from someone With a bad track record or no track record. I have learned my lesson on this.

This joint, I call it a joint because at the end of the day it's the most popular most active place online for our cleaning industry.

More important you get the truth even if it hurts.

That is very true! If a vendor out there has junk and we find out about it, it will be out on the internet all over the place and soon everyone will know about it.

Likewise when a vendor helps out a lot, has great products or new products, people share about their experiences, good and bad so it is known all over quick.

Lol... Zero,Hero and then back to Zero.. I think I went the full cycle here.. But thru it all Ronny knows who was there with him from the beginning..

Quote of the year there, worse thing that can happen to a poster on a BBS is when you have to worry or wonder, about what you can post. Then when you do, "speak your mind freely", it get's edited. The PWI model succeeds because it is not a business income. It isn't supplying income to someone. You can't get protection here.

You sure did Kid. 5 yrs before you came here. A bunch of us came here together when Ron started this PWI a month before 9-11.. We lived thru it right on this bb.. Don't sweat the hero remark.. It was just a sandwich anyway..

+100 It is a shame that on other sites your posts will be edited or deleted to fit their agenda, to fit the wants of suckazzes, to try to keep the crybabies happy, to keep the whiners at bay, to try to keep the threads "guided" a certain direction and many, many other reasons.

All the other sites out there should be like PWI, let people have their freedom of speech and only moderate when there is cussing or bad advice given, no real reason for changing or deleting posts out there unless it does not fit into their "agenda" or "plan" of things. It is a shame. They will call it what they want, say what they want but unless it is cussing or bad advice, the threads should be left alone.

If a vendor out there has a bad product or chemical, it is a good thing to warn others before they spend their hard earned money.

If a contractor out there is running a scam or is ripping people off, it is a good thing to call them out on it or warn others before they are ripped off.

If a contractor out there is spreading lies, we can help keep things honest by calling them out on it to help keep the truth out there for the world to see, nothing wrong with that at all and we are helping keep bad things from happening.

There are many, many other reasons for only moderating threads and posts for bad language and bad advice as this seems to be the main things on other industry bbs sites why the threads and posts are moderated, not for hidden agendas, not for whiners or crybabies, not for the "I want you to look at me and my equipment NOW" kind of people, not for the dishonest vendors trying to rip off contractors (more hidden agendas here) and many more reasons.

If the truth is out there, spread around, then it will help keep things going in the right direction but when things are changed to fit hidden agendas, hiding the truth, pacifying the crybabies and whiners, then the site is compromised and the truth gets stifled and mis-information starts getting spread around and the industry starts going backward instead of progressing.

My theory to everything you said is the truth always comes out.. They always do. It may take awhile to figure who the cons are, who's inconsistent in there post and who trying to sale you the Brooklyn bridge. I follow my gut reaction. If I don't trust a guy there's a good chance many don't trust him since I have a good read on who's good and who's trying to take your hard earned money..

I also belief if it's to good to be true like you can drink something and also use it for a degreaser product.. Then it not true..

Most of the boards I go to I like then. There all different and thank God for that:)
