blastmaster mag

Is blastmaster mag. out of business? Number doesn't work. If so I want a refund. Anybody not getting there mag.

Charlie

Charlie,

Unfortunately, I think the window of opportunity for a refund has passed. This is somewhat old news, perhaps a month and a half to two months ago everyone was talking about Blastmaster going under.........and they offered a refund on their website........however, their site is now down.

I decided at that time not to request a refund, out of appreciation for what they tried to do for the industry........

Hey Mike,
Your making me feel guilty because I got the $12 refund check and cashed it. Oh well. I donate to 10 or so charities around Christmas time so this money amount + of course more will go to help the needy anyway. My guilt just went out the window.:)

Lee Perkins left for the Phillipines August 8th. That's all I know....

Beth

Beth,

Did you ever give anymore thought about doing the mag yourself? You of all people would do great at it

Reed

Hi Reed,
I'm still mulling it over. In my opinion it's the wrong time of year to do it. I would need to plan for a while anyway. Guess that means if I do it's going to be a while before it happens. I appreciate your support more than you know. Thanks for your kind words. They mean alot to me. :)

i thought about asking for a refund out of principle, since this is the third rag i have subscribed to that went out of buisness before the subscription was up,but i did not because i felt this lee
lady had tried all she could to make it work and i believe she didn walk away with much money out of this deal anyway.

Hopefully the amount of people who stood behind this magazine sends a clear message to anyone who might be able to bring Blastmaster Mag. back into our homes one day.

i will go along with that tim... i was trying to subscribe when it went under.....here's hoping :) :)

cheers paul.

thanks for the kind words Paul, the magazine really was a very good idea and the format was perfect for our industry,i believe the magazine would have succeeded if there would have been more exposure than what was generated online.
I also feel like one of the bigger advertisers could have killed some of the sales from other advertisers in the magazine which hurt overall advertising/sponsors for the magazine to grow.

There were issues with advertising. Regretfully, there was some hindsight involved, which didn't make it any easier from what I was told. So there was a policy change and it still was an issue.

The article that would have been in the July issue will be in Cleaner Times in October. I submitted it to them. :)

Charlie,

I got the impression that she left for personal reasons, not like on a vacation or fun filled thing.........

I feel bad the whole thing didn't work out.

Go For It!

I never got to see an issue. I sent off for the trial, it never arrived, and approximately two weeks later I read of it's end. I would like to see a magizine, or perhaps a newsletter, geared towards owners/operators. CT seems (of the two issues I have recieved) to be slanted towrd Distributers, manufacturers, and bigger operations than what I see represented on this BB.

Beth, Go For It!
You seem to have the trade Knowledge and the publishing knowledge. I have read, several times the articles you e mailed me, and the vision of our industry appears to be there. I am sure several of the people here would lend a hand. I'll do my part; subscribe and read.:)

just a thought beth

hi beth,
i think you are thinking of filling the gap that blastmaster has left and i would think that the big problem would be printing...advertisers...distibution...up front monies to fund the start up and a few other things i must of missed.

its a big thing to take on time and money wise on top of the commitments you have now....well i could be way out of line with this but i will run it by you anyway.

how about a web site passwrd protected for the members who could pay for a yearly membership fee, you could change the pw word weekly, you can also check who is visiting you like dans site
which could be hidden if you req.

you could have guest writers and speical offers from any distributers that you can deal with. a how to do a simple flyer step by step..oh a hundred things that you would not be restricted to with a magazine that would become a great reference point after 10-12 issues .
oh and a chat room where we could talk to the old pro's :D or kick a few ideas around about marketing or what have you...like ron m tries to do on here.

if setting a chat room up is to differcult on a web site check www.paltalk .com out and set a room up that is password protected or not as you wish as it suits.......

you could do it all from home(or work shhh!) at low cost.

just a thought .......cheers paul.

Hi all,
Thank you all for the ideas and suggestions, the kind words and cheers of support and enthusiasm. I have tossed around the idea of being in print and also of having a site with a password. I don't know where it will end up, but I can tell you I won't stop writing.

I will say that for the next couple of weeks it is on hold as we are dealing with some personal family matters that I wish we didn't have to cope with. Please know that I'm not ignoring anyones posts until I'm able to be online more. Keep the ideas flowing here.

Read you in a week or two...

Beth

Hi Paul,
thanks! Am...chewing.
Beth

Well, I chewed on it a while... then I chewed on it some more.

I don't have a date set for publication yet, and the name isn't going to be Blastmaster but....

www.thegrimescene.com

The Grime Scene is coming!

I need articles and writers in all areas of the industry. I'll also be selling advertising space to distributors in the publication area.
