Questions about STRIPING FROM SURFACE CLEANER. Driving me nuts

It will be about 13 to 18, still in the works right now.

I run my hammerhead with 2 x 25025's at 4k psi 4gpm and wash it away with 9.5 gpm.

My 25025's are coming in tomorrow! What size hammerhead? 18" or 20"? Is the 9.5 with a wand?

20 and I rinse with a wand.

I wonder how much of a difference I'd find between the 25025 and 2502's? (3000psi/4gpm)

If all else fails, they make great sling shot ammo.

I would stay away from 02s . They will decrease your flow and they are tiny. Bad about clogging up.

Now that you mention that Pat, that's why we went that way! It was a flow vs pressure decision. Sounds like I made the right choice.

Guess I'm stuck with nuts and bolts!

CL you read the chart right. For your pump the proper orifice for full pressure on a wand with one nozzle is #5. Divided by two for a two nozzel surface cleaner is 2.5.
Nozzle numbers always start with the fan pattern being the first two digits. The the last two or three digits are the orifice. If there is three digits the last digit is the number after the decimal point. They don't put decimal points on the number. A 15025 tip is 15 degree fan and a #2.5 orifice. 25025 is 25 fan and #2.5 orifice. I used to run 1504s on my 8gpm unit but have been more happy with 2504s as far as less striping results. I am now expermenting with 40 degree tips on less stained concrete and am happy with results. Hopefully soon I'll get a heavily mildewed molded concrete to try it on. I cleaned probably the worst concrete I ever cleaned last week but that was with 25s before I had the 40 degree tips.

I had much better results with 40 degree nozzles on residential concrete than with 25s when I was using two nozzles on my surface cleaner. Now that I have a 3 nozzle bar, I have been using 25 degree tips. I just ordered some 4003 nozzles for it though, so I'll see how it goes.

Remind me Josh, whats your psi/gpm?

8 at about 2700 right now. Has been for a while now. I need really need to repack one of the pumps on the two pressure washers I have linked together though and I should be up to about 3700 psi again. Lol not that I would run that much pressure to my surface cleaner though.

Why not run 3700. I run 3500.

When I first started out I had taken concrete down to the aggregate a few times with that kind of pressure through my surface cleaner. That was at 4 GPM. Most of the driveways in Florida that were put there in the last 10 years or so are very soft. Haven't had enough experience here in NC to see if it's any different.

I've run 40 degree nozzles on a few cleanings now and here is my "take" . My setup is 8gpmx3500 hot water.
On concrete that has been semi maintained or not too much heavy grease or embedded mildew ( aka the dreaded green freckles ) 40 degree tips will fly and are very good at not striping. On heavier mildew and grease the 25 degree tips hit harder and clean better just slower and usually need to criss-cross once to even it out.
So it looks like I'll be keeping both sets of tips handy and changing tips around more than I used to. A couple minute tip change may save a lot of time running the pump.

That was cool! You need to be able to run faster... haha

Thanks. That was about as fast as I could go without leaving swirl marks. Probably could have gone a little faster if I had pre treated the concrete though. This was just cold water and nothing else.
