Deck Restoration in Tennessee

Looks good George are you going to wait 6 months and stain it.

Phil, We went ahead and stained it. The customer asked us for annual maintenance so we will be there frequently to keep it up. We have done some testing and have not found it to be a problem from staining new wood. I always wait when there is a new deck or fence, but not when it is board replacement since it is all being done at the same time. It just doesn't seem to make that much difference to me. I would do testing on your preferred stain before trying it.

You need to let the trapped water from the pressure treating process out of the wood . Once the wood reaches 15% moisture content it's ready for treating. This new process for treated pine is different than the old and seems not to let oils in as fast?
