fixing stain flashing???

working on a project with sikkens. told my guy to work the stain in and remove the excess with a rag. well of course low and behold he didnt listen good enough and there are three spots with excess oil dried on the top of the wood,aka, flashing. does anyone have any ideas on how to remove it or even it out ?

So you saying you have shiny spots?

You should be able to put some lacquer thinner on a rag and rub it out.
 
cool, that should work. Its cedar and he applied to much. told him to not leave it ( the stain ) on top of the wood. he did.

how long before i can adress the issue ? i'm working thirty miles in the other direction for the next three days.
 
Thank you Everett. there are only three small spots. I have about 4 gallons on the house now and another 10 to go. I am rained out for the next 4 days.
