Enough of the fighting

Hmmm, so I got a message this morning from a power washer guy and I won't go into detail as to what that message entailed, After having an entire day to think about the message I received I realized that there is no winning this battle or any battle as long I am viewed as a newb. Even a mutual understanding can not be reached. With that said I'm just going to step back and keep my mouth shut.... for now.

Ron I am new to this industry, but I have vary other expertise. Just some food for thought. I know you've said plenty of times that the PWI is everyone's site and you don't own it. And that is very true, not disagreeing with that at all. But your very http code says at the very beginning of each and every forum www.propowerwash.com. You may not be the only moderate and after doing a little research on V-bulletins you would of had to put some money forward to pay for this forum, quite a bit I might add, and extremely generous. My point is that regardless of the moderators and the administrators put in place here you and your company are the sole owner. Even if the other moderators are paying a monthly or annual fee, V-bulletins is still sending you or your company the bill. Thusly in the end it is yours. I have no problem with that and I personally thank you. Besides some of the fighting here I've enjoyed most conversations. Now to my main point as to why I bring all of that up. Take a long look as to what this site does for the entire industry what it contributes. To me it could contribute a lot but it is too divided because oldies want the respect and newbs want to be treated like equals. You will find that if the oldies treat the newbs like equals they will get the respect they have earned. And they do deserve that respect... you deserve that respect Ron. But if there is this constant split between the 2 this industry may not last. We need the oldies to teach the newbs, and we need the newbs to keep this industry alive. Again just some food for thought.

I am done with all of my ranting and so for now I will just keep away from the fighting and try not to get heated in the moment.

There is no reason to submit that many duplicate posts, that is highly frowned upon, don't do that again. That is no accident like hitting the submit button twice, that is just trying to aggravate the professionals here. Hitting the submit button over and over like a kid having a hissy-fit is not being professional and we don't need numerous duplicates of the same post. If you want attention, just ask for it, you don't have to post the same thing over and over and over for attention.

I will fix it.

Also I asked Christopher here for an apology for accusing me of wrong doings with-out any proof. Ron you know that your site has been going under maintenance and even yesterday I even text you asking if you knew your site was down. Even earlier today the site was down. Even some of your pages say "This page is currently under construction but frequently being updated. Visit us again soon!"
I will say this again I did not duplicate my post on purpose I hit the "Post Quick Reply" button and it took me to a blank white page and on the top left corner it stated "server error" I hit the back button tried it several times only getting the same result. I ended up leaving the site to go and do other stuff and came back later and re-wrote what I had up and posted that when I posted the last one they all showed up. I have specifically told Christopher that it was not intentional, yet still he accuses me of something I purposely did not do. I absolutely deserve an apology from him for accusing me with-out any proof or even speaking to me about it to see if it was a server error. And I want that apology.

Hey Kristopher, Your telling Ron to take a long look? You say you want to be treated as an equal to an industry veteran? LMAO! When you say (newbs) want to be treated as equals , which (newbs) are you referring to? I'm a NEWBIE in this industry and I don't recall talking to you about the way I'm treated. What you need to do is choose your words more wisely. Don't include others in your reteric BS opinions about this BBS. You are the one that needs to take a long look, junior. You remind me of a certain pot stirer that I'm glad is no longer here. Once again, PLEASE choose your words wisely and forget about the reteric BS

Hey Pettitt, Christopher wasnt really mad becuase he thought you double posted on purpose. He is mad that you spell your name with a K and he is just jealous thats all.

That is funny you mention that! hahahahaha

When I was younger me and my best friend wanted to change the spelling of our names so we could be "cooler", this was back in elementary school. My dad told me that there is nothing wrong with my name and that my best friend just wants to change the spelling of his name because he wants more attention and is a dumbazz. hahahahaha

That made sense to me and I never changed my name. He changed his name and later on his dad found out and kicked his butt and made him change the spelling back. His dad thought it was not only stupid to change it in the first place but very disrespectful to his parents that named him. I never thought about disrespecting the parents at all but this made sense to me.

I am glad that I never changed the spelling of my name as I did not ever want to disrespect my parents or want the azzwhooping my dad would have given me if I did.

That comment brought up some very old memories and vivid images of my friend getting beaten by his dad and crying like a little girl. hahahahahahaha

1. Quit with the pm's to me crying that you want and deserve an apology, you don't deserve anything for acting like a child here.

2. You can say what you want but the system will not make up many duplicate posts over and over without you hitting the buttons first, that is obvious. I and many others have posted twice on accident, it happens but not what you did, just man up to the fact and move on, if you are able, if not, then O Well.

3. Whining in almost all of your threads is not painting a manly picture of you at all, just FYI, it is painting a picture of someone that is a constant complainer and someone that wants his way or he will have a hissy-fit until he gets the attention he wants or he will post and post until he feels better. Just saying.

I thought it interesting when people demanded respect. I always thought that respect was something that was earned. I am not one that feels a compelling need to be considered an expert on anything. I am just a power washing contractor that happens to make a pretty decent living doing something I enjoy. I also have gained some knowledge along the way that can quite often help others be better at what they do.
If you wanted to be treated equally, you need to have the horses, and knowledge so that you have some credibility. Just my opinion. BTW, Some serious credibility can be lost if you start ranting like a fool.

+100 Great post Rance!

Ron has done more for this industry than most others put together, just ask the contractors in Houston, Texas. Nobody was trying to help there at all, even an org was not trying to help them but then Ron stepped up, used his decades of correct information and now things are going in the right direction. Thanks again Ron! No more mis-information being spread there to confuse the locals and officials there now and hopefully it will stay that way.

Look at the events that he and NCE have put together for many years (except last year, they needed a break but will put some up this year that will be great like all the others they have put together) and will continue to do so.

There are many great professional contractors on this site and you don't hear them whining about wanting attention and respect. Respect is earned, not just given when you are new to the business or industry, the people that have been around and doing this, helping others and doing great things to help everyone and the industry are given respect, there is a huge difference.

There is too much of this "Respect" nonsense in movies brainwashing children that if you don't like someone, you are "disrespecting them" which is not true, this is just the garbage in a lot of movies and the "Little gangster wannabee" attitude that everyone owes them respect. You have to earn respect when you don't have any and if people don't agree with you, that is not disrespecting you, that is just disagreeing with you. How you choose to see it is up to you but you cannot live your life with "respect glasses on" expecting everyone you meet to respect you without deserving respect for the right reasons. Enough of this "respect" nosense.

There are contractors here that have been in the business for many decades, do great things to help out others, answer phone calls to the newbies just starting out or need advice about things which the locals will not help them or the locals just don't know so the newbies call the guys that have been around a while and get help (when people have time, are not in the middle of a job or during important meetings), too many times I, and many others have received calls wanting to talk and ask questions while we are busy on the job or the above situation and guys get offended when we cannot stop the world from spinning and help them for 30 minutes or longer. We also have to work and make money. We are willing to help but when we have time and are not in a situation when the customer is watching us wondering why we are not working or when the job has to be finished by a certain time so we have to finish the job, then we can talk on the phone.

I get calls each week and I tell the guys to call me later on when I am done working so I can give them time and answer a lot of their questions but right now I am in the middle of a job, meeting with a customer, in a meeting or whatever the case may be so the guys need to understand that we are willing to help but not when we are in the middle of a job when there is a time limit to get it done.

Hope this is not too much to read. hahahahaha

Firstly, there is no mutual understanding to be had and there was no need for a battle.

With your proclamation that you are done... 'for now', gives me the impression that you will continue with your quest to have everyone fall in line with your idea on how they should conduct themselves and how the board should be run.

Instead of us waiting with baited breath for your next round of wise words, or tidbits of your thoughts followed by 'I won't go into detail', 'I'll get to that later', etc., how about you contribute or participate positively. With your other expertise, I am sure you have something positive to offer.

I do not own PWI its bills paid till 2022, THE url is www.pressurewashinginstitute.com and can be redirected anytime the staff wants it done. The control has changed to many people over the years and my only clause is that all be allowed and it remained free.

You find no one here who has ever paid me a dime for anything to run this site. SORRY

PWI is in a trust, so after I leave it will be run by the staff thats here.

On the dividing of the industry here your choice, stay with the way its been done for 20 and accomplish nothing. Or Join us and start a wild ride into the future.

By the way everyone invited and we will work with all.

Kristopher Pettitt

Its very clear someone has been in your ear, to bad because these people if you look back now only offered you a distorted vision of what we do here. I can tell by your posts, maybe you should call them and ask them if they will stop by to help you?

I'm done with the entire Topic

Being a noob here I was treated with more repspect and acknowledgement than I deserved. No one here owes me jack...im not entitled to anything. ..ron..jerry...russ...hell even jimbo had answered my calls and questions like they have known me for years..

I've been staying out of this because its none of my buisness but Ron you owe no one an explanation about how this site is ran it's none of anybody's buisness. We all help guys by choice not because we HAVE to.PWI puts up with more crap than any other BBS there is.Everybody should feel lucky we help new guys learn about their buisness. There was no help like guys have now with the BBS back when I started 15 yrs ago.

If you are not getting in these "fights" then stay out of them. This whole fighting thing started from the EPA thread the most entertaining thread I've ever seen since the beginng of any BBS there was. It beats my" is bleach really bad for wood" thread on the TGS maby 20 or 30 pages.Wood only guys are a totally different breed..

There will always be disagreements on these BBS if you dont want a fight dont look for one cause you will be out numbered! We all respect the vets online that know their profession and yes it's earned not a given.

That's all I have to say about that.....

Even when it's in front of your face you still can't admit that you were wrong. That to me is just sad and shows me exactly what kind of moderators have been placed here.

And Ron the fact that you say nothing when you know darn well what I say is true, is just disappointing.
