Now I think Allison may have something to contribute. What it is I dont know, but hey you never know.
I really don't have much to contribute. I'm seeing the in's and out's of both sides from their perspectives -- and I've had confidential conversations over the years with bot sides, but I see it from an outsider's perspective. I'm not the one being affected by any of this.

To me it's not all black and white. (But I rarely see anything in black and white. Just my personality.) Both sides have good people that I like and respect with strong opinons who believe they are doing what's best for the industry. I just wish there was a way for everyone to work together. I think it would benefit all involved, thus my earlier post -- but I realize that's a pipe dream. While I'm dreaming, I'll join with Larry's big group hug and chorus of Kumbaya.

I voted in a moment of weakness before I understood that my vote would show up. I really shouldn't have voted since it's not my livelihood that's being affected by any of this, and if there's a way to remove my vote, I'd prefer that.

While I have my own opinions about this whole situation, I plan to keep them to myself! However, I will say that I selected "Do you want us to try to build on Robert's foundation?" for two reasons:
1. Completely reinventing the wheel seems like a longer, less productive process than taking what is out there and reworking it.
2. Synergy, i.e., the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. (Specifically "combined effort being greater than parts: the working together of two or more people, organizations, or things, especially when the result is greater than the sum of their individual effects or capabilities")

IF there was a way for both organizations to work together, I believe more could be achieved than if two separate groups of passionate, intelligent, opinionated individuals continue to battle one another.

Well spoken Allison.

Unfortunately, the world you speak of only exists where egos are kept in check. That doesn't seem to exist within the mobile contact cleaner realm. We can't all be right and we can't all win, but I'll be damn if I am going to give in to a mis-guided self proclaimed leader just because we have to live in harmony. It's not meant to be.

Thanks Allison. I always appreciate your honesty no matter what it is you may say or write because I know it's always well thought out.
It's all about moving this industry forward because this is our chosen field.

Can't argue with that either Tim.. If all avenue's were exhausted where one has done their "Own" due diligence and it's not going to work.... It's not going to work..
The only thing I ever question was did people go in "Blindly" and just jumped on the bandwagon..as in piling on.

John, I believe that is exactly what happened to begin with. People jumped on the Robert bandwagon because they thought he was actually looking out for them. Now, after reading what has happened over the past 20 years people are beginning to see what was really going on. It will take a lot to undo what has been done. I believe there are enough contractors that care enough to take on the task though.

William can you and I clear the air first because whoever is branding us as liars is false.. You always IMHO stayed true to your beliefs. I said that when you left this bb not to long ago.. I like to respond to what your saying here but if I'm going to be branded by the usual crew as a liar and you believe that then it's pointless..

Re: PWI members, what say ye?

John many have said for years that your weakness is simply believing too much of what you are told. In this instance you trust Robert like gospel which precludes you from intelligently considering the reality around you. Most of us don't think you are a liar John, you are a good guy but at this point a lot of people in the industry simply feel sorry for you.

I thought we were finally agreeing on something. As for the lying, I can't help you with that. Everyman is accountable for his own actions. I am not swayed by the opinions of anyone else, so what others think about you or me or anyone have no bearing on me. I form my beliefs and assessments of others based on my own thoughts, convictions and observations.

I believe everything your saying about yourself but since your branding me as a liar then it pointless for us to discuss this further--

Charlie Charlie Charlie-- didn't we cross this bridge before??
Like William-- if someone doesn't like me because I give a darn-- there's nothing I can do about that. I hope you don't feel sorry for me-- if you ever got to know me better instead of what some guys might pm you on the net you wouldn't feel sorry for me at all. I do appreciate that you seem to care enough to be concerned for my well being.

As for Robert I respect what he has done including creating your org the UAMCC. There are some BMP's I'm not to fond of but he told me yrs ago I can use what he has and go from there like he tells you guys as well. How can you not respect that???

I voted complete rebuild of reputation. That being said I stand behind Robert Hinderliter as well. He may not be right all the time, he may have sinned in the past like us all. I believe his heart is in this industry and loves it as much as us all, maybe a little more.

However I believe that the bar needs to be raised on the contractor side of professionalism. Forget the BMP's for awhile and let's start focusing on licensing, insurance and safety. How can we focus on anything else when contractors wont even take the time to buy a $30.00 business license, $1,500.00 worth of insurance and wear life saving safety equipment in a uniform that doesnt show off their but crack?

Just saying...

AC, the people you described are not powerwashing contractors. They are guys with a hobby.

Why do we keep acting as if this is the norm in our industry?

I know what you describe is more prevalent in some areas. But in 9 years if this business I make it a habit of talking to every contractor I see working, night or day, if I have the time. In that time I have only found two that were doing any significant work that I could not find a business license for.

I disagree about Robert. But then again, my public opinion of Robert is not as likely to affect my "economic revenue stream" as it would others.

I agree with the hobby description for sure!

And yet John still maintains that he is on the side of the "1000s of people" who agree with Roberts approach

And yet John still maintains that he is on the side of the "1000s of people" who agree with Roberts approach

80% of Roberts,Rons,Tony's and most others approach because if you know anything about BMP's Charlie there is a huge part of that everyone would agree with. It's that last 10-20% maybe even less then that range is where the problem is.

So I'm on the side of common sense--- Your a smart guy Charlie so figure it out. Do you tear it all down and "Reinvent the wheel" or do you take what you have and build on it. Your already did that once with the UAMCC. You took something in place and are trying to build on it. Did you ever wonder why that was done??

Do you tear it all down and "Reinvent the wheel" or do you take what you have and build on it.

First...It doesn't need anymore "building".....it needs "un-built"

Second...it's built on a false premise (cosmetic cleaning, polluters, etc). You'd have to tear so much of it down that's it's just best to disavow it totally, use it as a "negative" example and re-educate the AHJ's.

And yet John still maintains that he is on the side of the "1000s of people" who agree with Roberts approach

"Do you want us to move forward and actively approach the regulators as Robert has been doing" - 2 votes
"Do you want us to try to build on Robert's foundation?" - 2 votes

Looks like John and Robert voted.
