Workers used fine-particle filter vacuums to collect dry debris, Mann said, including the half-inch of dust that sat atop overhead light stands long before the fire. In addition to the yellow uniforms, workers wore filter masks for that job.

Power washing involved a two-minute soak with a cleaning solution that met health department standards, Mann said, followed by 3,000-pounds-per-square-inch pressure washing with 350-degree water.

In all, the cleanup will use: 6,000 cloth towels, 300 to 400 gallons of cleaning liquid, four cherry pickers to reach ceilings and four trucks dispensing 650 gallons of water each.
