As some of you may know we are a full service landscape company.

Not only do we provide Pressure washing services (that use water ) but we also install and maintain commercial and residential irrigation systems.

(that use 1000's times more water)

the average home sprinkler system will use (here in ohio) around 7200 gallons of water per week (240 min@ 10 GPM, 3 days a week)

we service around 350 residential systems so 7200*4= 28800 gallons per month by 350 homes = 10080000 gallons a MONTH

Now this number is jaded, Out of those homes not all use their system every week. some do not use them at all, and some leave them run day and night.

Our commercial properties use so very much more....on in particular used 570 MILLION gallons last year alone.

And One of the golf systems we help maintain used 2.4 BILLION gallons in 2012.

Water conservation is always on my mind. I alone control the fate of several billion gallons of water every year.

Now you ask how can they afford all that water? Well most commercial sites pull their water from ponds or wells, smaller commercial buildings pull from the domestic water supply.

Most residential homes use the domestic water supply.

Now the Biggest question where does all that water go?..........

I can honestly say that not 1 drop of any of that water was wasted....... now the energy used to drive the pumps to move that water was.

almost every last drop of that water returns to us one way or another.

evaporation is the main driver for weather (kinda just go along). Most of the water used for irrigation evaporates, forming clouds.....yada yada.....and falls as rain.

the rest flows down drains to streams and back to rivers and lakes where it (see above).

And eventually right back to the tap it came from........

Great post!

Imagine that. Nature works!

Great Info.

You know, it all happened by accident. There was this big bang when there was nothing, and it formed something. Then a couple of random molecules, that had been formed from nothing happened to bump into each other and formed a living organism. It is amazing how coincidence works.

Wow, that is how it all started? All by accident, and here we are? No more logic for me. (sarcastic fun too)
