BArry Please ask some questions here about the UAMCC certification

Come on Lets see if you qualify or even PASS? This is nothing like a Walmart fishing Licensed. I see you are un-aware of the process.
Well you meet the 5 years but you still have to prove it, some thought they could do that and in the end could not. I didnt remember last time I got a Fishing licensed they ask me if I have been in fishing for five years and to prove it?

As the president of a non profit org, you steer people to a revenue creating school for the benefit of your friend. There is nothing to dispute about that, they are your words in your video. I am not making this about revenge. I do not believe in what is happening. I am entitled to my opinion, as you are. I am not perfetutaing falacies, I am posting about your actions that you admit to doing and I disagree with it. They are not falacies they are facts.
I am sure the UAMCC financials are in order, there would be no charge at the UAMCC, the charges are at the for profit businesses that your running, like NCE, PWI (ad spaces etc), Dougs school and so on.

So, here is what I get out of the video. You are opinionated and you have your agenda that you are pushing. Many are afraid of you to say anything. You know, I know it, most in the industry know it. I do not wish to participate in a pissing match with you, nor will I here becuase of the way this thread will turn.

The name calling is improper for a person in your position. If your frustrated, you should act like a grown man and take the issue up with me. You have my number, you have called a number of times in the past. Stating in this post that I am not banned here yet...why the threats. My posts are not in violtion of the rules, they are contrary to theopinion of you and your friends. Do you want discussion or censorship??
In the grand scheme of things, all of this rates pretty low on the radar for me. I disagree with whats happening and I am entitled to my opinion.

Certifications for specific areas of cleaning that need advanced training and education are the only areas where being certified may help get work in our industry.

. Coils , garage cleaning , wash water control, stone restoration , high rise or just training in advanced methods of doing something. Education and more knowledge is power.

Basic training for beginners gives people a head start so they have some confidence to begin there attack on the public trust. If you get a certificate of completion from a class and show it to a customer it might build trust . The basics are house washing, roof cleaning, and cleaning a deck . If an organization has a strong presence within an industry and creates a valid training program that becomes an industry standard of excellence . That could create a certification program?

Right now the basics are out there and certifications don't have value in my book. I'm biting my tongue . The old me would be very sarcastic . I went to cyber bully class 8 years ago and still attend meetings. Lol......

Just out of curiosity, Michael, does your state require any certifications to perform police work? Did you have to go through any training, or work to receive it? When you started your job, were you fully certified right away, or did you have to ride with a training officer for a few weeks, or months?
 
Ron, just come out and say your sorry this whole certification process was a misstep by the UmACC and your starting over. I'm sick of watching and reading people coming to your defense . Its been going on for ever and it polarizes the industry. It gets embarrassing to read but I do enjoy reading it.

If you want real change you have to change too!

Sort of has a familiar ring to it, say, from a couple of years ago.

Those people changed the course of the uamcc.

In the end, we are all dead.

Too many people sweating too much small stuff.

I simply will not discuss police work on this site for a number of reasons.

Tim, I think we (meaning me and whoever else you are talking about) were largely ignored.

I don't think we did that much to change things.

It just unraveled after the convention.

There are some deep trust issues between a lot of contractors. There are contractors I wouldn't trust as far as I could throw them, and I'm sure there are some who feel that way about me.

But there are so many different aspects of an org and directions it is going everyone could get involved in whatever area they have a talent or experience in and probably never even see each other except once a year at a convention.

There is one thing I'd like to bring up. Ron mentioned to me the other day that it would be hard to list everyone who was involved in the certifications without accidentally leaving someone out and making them upset.

I hope we can either leave all that drama at home for the family reunions and realize that not everyone will be recognized for everything they do.

Sometimes people forget.

Sometimes people are standing right there waiting for an invitation to help and they are offended when they aren't asked.

We are all grown men and women. If something has offended you (by you I mean anybody) then speak up and say something about it or just slough it off and remember that all these guys have businesses to run and sometimes people forget to say thanks. Sometimes people forget volunteers. It's not a big deal.

I know all that had nothing to do with you post. Just thinking out loud.

Or Jim, you could also decide you would like to be the one to change and ish-nay the nay-say and offer your help in adding value to certifications. Stop the polarization, come on over! Would love to have your feedback for our wood testing module.
 
I'll talk about Police work. Last week I was heading home from work about 10p.m. and the blue lights started flashing so I pulled over. The officer informed me that my trailer lights weren't working and the license plates on my truck had expired. We have 5 vehicles, 2 boats and 2 work trailers. My plates expire in September but what I had forgotten was the commercial vehicles expire in November. I thought I had renewed everything in September, but my dually flat bed is listed as a commercial vehicle and I completely screwed up.

My lights would work if I used the flashers so the officer told me to drive with my flashers on and to get my plates taken care of and to be careful on my way home. As I turned around the officer hit his lights again and rolled down his window to let me know my trailer plates were showing expired in the computer. That was an error on their part, my trailer plates were up to date. My point is the officer could have written me multiple tickets and justifiably so, but understood that it was an honest mistake and that I would get it taken care of right away.

With all the negative reports about the police I just wanted to give some equal time to the officers who are good natured and give you a break sometimes even when you might not deserve it.
 
Barry, can we take this to mean that you, like Rob, are not concerned with correcting any perceived problems with the org, but would rather simply see it shut down?

At full price, it was selling like ice cubes in Alaska....The BOD would some day have to answer to the membership. Keep in mind, the BOD is for all intents and purposes the PWI clique. The pre and post election hype was off the scale and in a year plus....nothing was happening.

Time for a fire sale.....

It's ego first, power and control second....managing the well being of the UAMCC's fiscal needs is a distant third.

If my posts were not selectively deleted based on the approval of the content....I would. If I thought I could have a discussion here with you and the UAMCC BOD and minus all the token ring kissing support posts...I would. If I thought I could actually participate in a phone discussion without getting preached at I would take your calls.

I have better things to do than argue details...but they all revolve around my family, my friends, my customers and my chosen focus.....roof cleaning....and your Cert program touches all of them in some way, directly or indirectly.

Much like the 29 page EPA thread here, where we agreed BTW, I have no issues with speaking my mind and I don't care who get's mad or what friends I lose. I don't want friends that flighty anyway.

TGS might not be your preferred venue for the discussion but for the same reasons you are banned there, PWI is not mine. It would be more than lopsided. I don't know any other Forum I belong to that wants this on there site.

If you or anyone wants to skype chat about this, Send a contact invite to my skype ID (ArmyVet) and I'll add you/them to the Roof Cleaning Skype group. The discussion is passed to all members present or offline so it's impossible for any one person to edit what has been typed....there are multiple copies of the discussion. People can drop in and out at their leisure.

And could you please stop the video responses? It kills discussion. How in the heck is anyone supposed to follow a thread when they have to watch hours of video to understand what's being discussed? I'm not going to transcribe your comments to text just to respond. If you can type half as fast as you text, it wouldn't take long to just post replies. Up until two days ago, I've probably watched 1/50th of all your video responses....I haven't watched the one you just made. I usually skip past them....I'm probably not alone.
