Landa Water Jet

Marking this so I can find it again easily

Tell us more about it Jay.

Did it speed up the regular jobs?

Did it make the work go easier? Faster?

Less fatigue?

Just a nice well designed machine. It is just a little smaller than my Hydrotek and steel eagle, but I like both of them.

Still playing with nozzles on the Steel Eagle to keep it from stripping.

Come on jay you know it's better and faster and you can't go back

Workhorses needn't be show horses.

Came across a used landa water jet,.might need a new union(leaking). Call for some parts price.....
Nozzled it with two 5.5 for my 11 gal....did not clean any better.
Come to find out these machines are rated to 6gpm..
Did not price
Spray mart yet...but landa unions right under 700...

Almost all the unions "weep". If it isnt spraying water out chances are there is nothing wrong with it.

Paul sells the mosmatic conversion kit as stated by Ron above. They are 1/3 the price.

Why would you want to put 11 GPM through a 20 inch SC? And then say it doesn't work any better.

That's like putting a trailer on a corvette and complaining that it doesn't pull any better than a Duramax. They are made for two different applications.

To the original point of the thread - if any of you ever need manuals for any Karcher, Landa, Hotsy or Shark machine, just shoot me an email.

Well now, Not sure if I understand that scenario or why anytime I post you are the first and only one to try a ridicule my posts.

Don’t know anything about landas except what I might have read here.

All I was wanting to do is try out this Landa this guy is wanting to sell.
He let me borrow it to try it out.

All I run are 11gpm machines, I have a 36, 24’s sc that I run.
I don’t run single 5.5 no more.

All I did was tip it correctly like my other Sc’s and was going to see if it was any different. Sometimes I might want a smaller one to do smaller jobs.

Maybe my line of thinking is off, but I figured the smaller landa with correct nozzles would be really fast.

Never had put much thought what Sc are rated for as long as they was sized per gpm.

As far as the weeping and me thinking union might be bad….I thought that might be the reason it was not cleaning any better than my others.

No offence but I got your opinion Tony, Maybe someone else would like to explain since I know nothing about Landa exept everyone should have one.

Sometimes the swivels (rotary unions) are only rated for so many gpm's, a lot of them out there are only rated for 8gpm so more gpm's might not let it work correctly, not sure what can happen but you never know.

I saw the guy running 17gpm's through a surface cleaner deck and that swivel is probably only rated for about 8 or 10gpm.

I would not use a water jet with 11 gpm's, I would stick with 6 or 8 at the most because of it's size. With 11 gpm's you can split the flow and run 2 of the water jets.

Just my opinion.

I got a question for the guys who sell surface cleaners and unions...

I am going to buy another sc (if I decide not to buy that landa)

What Surface cleaners are rated for 11 gpm?
I currently run that 36" and a 24" steel eagle....have no idea what they are rated for.

What is the smallest I can go down to if properly nozzled?
What can happen if these unions are rated say 6-8 and you run 11gpm
will you reach a point that the cleaning will be substandard or will he cause damage to pump?
I thought most unions were about the same as rate?

Lastly ....With my set up this Landa is no good for me? Cannot be upgraded some how to accommodate me?

Thanks

The problem with the Landa is the inlet at the union is only 1/4 inch.

This is why Russ Johnson and Paul Kassander are doing so well.

I have the bearing from the local Landa Dealership here in my hand. I had to drive halfway across down to get it and then had the privilege of paying $22.00

Here it is at Fastenal for $4.26 http://www.fastenal.com/web/products/detail.ex?sku=0474476

And on Ebay for $5.63 with FREE SHIPPING. http://compare.ebay.com/like/190732272535?_lwgsi=y&ltyp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar

This is why I refuse to buy anything from these people unless I just can't get it elsewhere.

A long time ago I made them an offer. I said I would pay them 30% higher than internet pricing at places like Envirospec or the other online stores. For example I bought a pump for around $500 shipping included from Paul. I was willing to pay them $650 for the same pump AND drive over there and get it. They laughed and said they just couldn't do that and the best they could do for the same pump was $900.

Are these people insane?

I wish I could find that stupid bar somewhere else. $130???????????????????? I could probably take it down to a machine shop and have it made from scratch for less than half that.

Well, I hope you guys can use the Ebay lead for these bearings. At least that's $20 they won't be getting from me anymore.

So I'm not the only one with this problem? As much as I like supporting guys like Russ and Paul, there are times where I would be willing to drive out of my way and pay extra to have something when I need it, instead of having to anticipate it a week ahead of time and wait for it to ship. I'm willing to pay a little extra, but paying double is unacceptable. And when I call, don't rush me off the phone like I'm wasting your time by asking questions. I also like how when Russ or Paul tell you they are going to call you back, they actually do. There's a novel idea. And when the local distributors common response is "I don't have that in stock, I can order it for you." it's just easier to have everything you need shipped directly to your house and not have to screw with the local distributor.

Well just run the Landa with a 5.5.....
Seemed to clean alright, Do not like how the hose attaches.......it's on the left side....all my others are on the right.
Seemed like it hose was in front of me most of the time and was in my way and had to hold it most of the time.
This has 18" deck but cleaning path is only 16.
I use 1/2 hose and deck always wanted to raise up in front.

Well that is my Evaluation of the landa for with my set up

Does anybody make a surface cleaner with at least a 3/8 inch hose to attach to.I have used a landa, hydrotek ant3,steel eagle and the hoese are only 1/4.There is no way you can get full flow with 1/4 hose with much more than 5 or 6 gpms is there?
