Manual truck?

PITA in city traffic. I won't own another one.

I can vouch for the V10, but mine is an auto

I wouldn't. The new technology in transmissions gives no advantage to a manual other then a little better fuel mileage. In fact, many semis are going to automatics, and th drivers are loving them.

However, if you get it for the right price, and are certain that everyone that ever drives it can use a stick, I would be a lot more likely to go for it.

I have thought about manuals so many times, but always go against it because if an employee drives a manual they think they are Dale Earnhardt and waste more gas than it saves.

Sounds like you have first hand knowledge... Lol

I drove truck for years and i just couldnt be bothered with a stickshift, but hey im lazy. just put it in drive and go.

Hahaha. When I have kids and they start to drive they will drive automatic. Speaking from experience, there is something that happens chemically in the brain that makes you want to drive like an idiot when you have a manual transmission. It does not matter the car. I had a 71 Beetle that I bought (500 bucks) when I got my license and I hotdogged with it all over town. Unfortunately it lost its life shortly after I bought it. My parents felt bad and I was able to drive their 84(?) Nissan 300ZX then I was a real idiot.

In college I worked in the warehouse for Circuit City and we would often make deliveries for customers ourselves if they did not want to wait for the regional delivery team and it was feared the sale would be lost due to the delay. This was often a cash arrangment that cut out Circuit City but our manager was okay with it because many times the sale was in jeopardy if the product could not be delivered today. My boss had an old manual Ram 1500 that he let us borrow for many of these deliveries. We would often see how fast we could go through the gears. Peeling out at lights, trying to shift has quickly as possible I know we were burning has left and right. I am conviced we drove like that because of the stick. My wife drives a sporty 2 seater manual and now that I am older I do not fall into old habits.
