Networking and education.
Do you attend at least one event each year to network and educate yourself about your profession? Is it important for you to get opinions from other cleaners and not just one group of people? How valuable are hands on demos or How to sessions to you as a cleaner? as a businessperson?
Just looking for honest feedback here guys and gals.

Well, I think education is power. I decided to add the window cleaning to my PW business. To my surprise I got two accounts in 2 days. Not much but its a start. I don't even own a squeegee. I will Always take advantage of any opportunity to learn. A good friend of mine ( Mr. Kleen ) has been doing windows since we met. over 10 years ago and he has a great business. I charged 8 a pane for one job and 5 for the other. The 5 dollar one is twice a month and is in a Glassy plaza. im excited about this new venture. So I will definitely be trying to educate my self in this field.

Thanks all. Funny earlier today I spoke to the regional bank manager of my first account and they will consider me for the other two branches. Pretty cool. The one bank has a serious problem with hard water stains. She said no other window cleaner has been able to get it off. I MUST remove it. I'm thinking CLR

That is a very good point Tony, some vendors give the UAMCC members a discount, getting everything you need to clean windows, remove hard water stains and other misc. supplies, the discount will save you a lot of money for sure.

I have bought from JRC in the past and they had great customer service.

Depending on the minerals making up the stain it may work. I'd suggest picking up a couple other stain removers for a window cleaning supply house I listed if the CLR doesn't help. Maybe Sorbo powder and Bio Clean. You should also set expectations anytime you are dong what I call restoration work like hard water stain removal. Some minerals bound with the glass and require heavy acids or buffing to remove them. Whatever you choose make sure the customer understands you can't guarantee 100% restoration. If may happen but don't over promise. If anything under promise and over deliver.

In line with Tony's original question: Networking has brought me out of the window cleaning and pressure washing dark ages.

This is great, Im in a networking group now but all they do is advertise their business. there is no other communication. Doug was rightr when he said it is a waist of time. I need to move to another.

This discussion may help as well. There are a number of suggestions. Even one from Tony!

No theres no problem with WCR Dan and anyone here can recommend anyone.

I just think we have to have someone closer to John, if not I like any UAMCC Associate only because they support Free Education Click HERE, you will find 33 to choose from.

JRC or Manny are Great Choices, been cleaning windows for 30 years now
