How Do You Say "Thank You?"

IMG_0260.jpg

To be the best at something you need to perform tasks better and different than others. How do you thank a customer and leave a lasting impression? When we finish a deck job we say thank you by leaving a citronella candle with our logo on it for the customer. Now anyone that comes over to admire the deck all summer long will have our info at their fingertips too! Anyone else doing this! Go ahead and steal it I will find something else different.

Cool idea!

We give these out to our golfing customers a small golf bag. We stain a lot of decks in a gated community with a golf course.

Hand printed thank you cards to every customer thanking them for allowing us to clean their home, business, etc.

Holy Toledo good ideas. Sometimes we give new flags, regardless of the size of job. They are inexpensive and make great impression. On whole-house paint jobs, maybe couple of good exterior dog water bowls or a cool welcome mat or perhaps a high-quality brass doorbell, depending on what I note could be used/appreciated, etc. Of course, depends on the customer... On a $5k job, spending $19 on a simple item is nothing, and goodwill abounds.

But the citronella candles and golf towels trump all simply due to the logo.

Any item you can give a customer goes a long way. I gave many thing away over the years. I always liked coffee cups. I still have a few. I had company name, phone numbers and web address. Many like myself collect coffee cups and they see your information every day. The best thing you can give away is a refrigerator magnet, they always keep them.

How many other company are doing this? Answer is not that many so by doing something along these lnes you are setting yourself apart from the competition and leaving a lasting impression on your customers. I like what Steve said about leaving a logo, phone number, and info behind. This is branding and leaving you easily accessible to for future work and for referrals that are lasting. I don't like to invest in throwaway items that do not last or promote my company for long periods of time.

I had these cards printed at gotprint.com.....these are the front and back. Nice gloss coated high quality look and feel

I am friends with the owner of the local Dunkin Donuts/Baskin Robbins.... In fact just cleaned his personal house and driveway this morning.

Anyway, when my customer hands me the check, I ask if they like ice cream. When they say yes, I give them one or two of the cards and tell them they can go to the restaurant and pick out a quart of ice cream... on me. It goes over very well. Sets me apart from the competition.... They don't do anything at all, and it gets people coming into my friends store..... They may likely buy something else while there, which is good for his business. Not every card gets redeemed, but the ones that do, he invoices me at the end of the month. Cost me $4 per redeemed card.

This summer we are giving away ice, water and sodas in our in showroom.. It gets hot in El Cajon.. June thru September.

Great idea Bob..

Everett, do you print your own stickers or have them made?

If you have them made, who do you recommend?

Thanks.
