Video: How to Power Wash a Driveway

Hey All,

I originally produced this video to show how to prepare a driveway for the F9 Rust Removal process but thought it would be good for some of you to see how to properly power wash any driveway.

There are a few techniques you can use if you watch closely, like how to keep the hose off your surface and behind you at all times. This eliminates the need for a hose guy.

I also use a double-direction pressure washing technique, going faster on the 2nd time over. This helps to reduce any possible surface cleaner lines and makes everything come out a little cleaner.

Use of a good degreaser allows us to adjust the Landa Water Jet up higher so the impact of the tip to surface spray is lower, yet wider.. which allows me to work faster while reducing the possibility of damage to the concrete.

If you have any questions, feel free to post them here.

Were you applying F9?

No that wasn't the F9, I was prepping the concrete for the F9 though.

Here's a little video on how to apply F9 if you want to see how it is sprayed on concrete. Concrete is the longest restoration of the F9 Restoration processes and it's important not to skip a step and follow all of the steps. The other surfaces like stucco, shingles, asphalt are much quicker.

I don't know, Doug. If it helps to narrow it down they say "Made In China" on the bottom.

I got them at Lowes and put Dr. Scholls inserts in 'em.

What size are they? Bigger boots clean concrete faster.

8 gpm, adjustable spray bar, 25' tips, angle the tips a little farther away from the concrete to increase spray bar speed and you can get away with it. ;)

Thanks. What kind of things do you do to increase your guy's work speed? Any more tips?

They are motivated by dollars. We certainly have them always looking for restoring ad on and things on property out of scope.

It's a continuing challenge to retrain over and over. It has to be done to keep consistency.

Noob question but I just did my driveway and I was wondering where you sprayed the dirty water to? Or what do you do with it if you don't have a vac? Currently my drive way is nice and clean but the sidewalk and street got the dirty end of the deal hope to hear some feedback
