Flow actuated Unloader and Pressure actuated Unloader

My k7 doesn't seem to bypass at all. I switched to a k7 2 years ago and love it. It took a little work to optimize it but it's great. Since I sell and represent soft washing it is great when a customer doesn't see a sudden dump of pressure when I pull the trigger. Also they are much easier on the hands and the hoses and equipment.

Wherever you get it from ask for a smaller orifice to the bypass side. I also grease the piston o ring and cylinder on the bottom about every month or so with silicone grease. Four bolts on bottom and takes about 3 minutes....easy. Keeps it operating right. If it gets where it doesn't want to come out of bypass time for a dab of grease. I LOVE my K7.

Pat, I'm thinking about switching over flow unloaders myself....any tips or tricks I should know?
Hey Guy, k7s are rated for 3000 psi. I have a whole bucket full of dead ones just from this year. I just went to the Cat 4000 psi, about 40 bucks more but, I'm hoping they will work out better

Thanks HardwareSteve,
We run several 5000/7gpm machines 24h a day for 5 to 6 days straight on every job sites and consequently our unloader kit need replacement every 2 days or so, which is too much. We keep our system with zero water leakages where the gunner operators are part of our team.
Considering the cleaning impact lost with constant bypass, do you think that the unloader's valve would degrades less rapidly if set with continuous bypass water?

Guy I believe Chris Chapelle uses K7s or K10s. He might give you some pointers too.

If you mean me, I only use pressure unloaders, have never tried a flow unloader, just too used to pressure unloaders.

I have heard that the flow unloaders are kind of finnicky until you get them setup how you want them and then they are good for a while.

I have used the AL607 unloaders for a while now, the Hotsy came with one from the factory and it lasted 7 years then when it went out I replaced it with the same kind but only got a year out of the next one but part of that problem was a leaky gun which made the unloader cycle too much and wear out. I replaced that gun and the unloader and have not replaced the unloader and it has been over 2 years now with that unloader so far.

I do have one of the 2140 green spring unloaders that I was going to try out but now I am having doubts about using it.

Now that I remember, I need to order a spare AL607 unloader to keep in the shop.

I am gonna take a stab and guess that you are operating this as a split gun system? Probably oilfield related? Just a guess...if not what are the conditions of things like the water, what unloader are you currently using and are you splitting the pump into a multigun situation?

The outlet on the flow unloaders is a tiny tiny hole, seems like a lot of power loss.
