Hi Craig. I am about to order a case of F9. I have gone through much of the material and have read lots of posts and threads regarding F9. I can see that pretty much everyone, is quite happy with the product and people are starting to incorporate it into their businesses. I live in a very large community with a golf course, so it only makes sense that I add Professional Rust Stain Removal to my arsenal as well. I also live an an area where irrigation stains are everywhere! Just a few questions. I see that you say Professional Rust stain removal contractors are charging between $0.50 and $1.00 per foot(I assume that is Sq./ Ft) Does that include cleaning the driveway also? I know that you must do the whole slab from control joint to control joint, so the concrete comes out even. Don't you have to do the whole driveway?
And on that note, What is the sq./ft. coverage on a gallon of F9. How much area can I get done(completed, rust stain gone) with 1 gallon of F9? I am trying to figure out what my cost per sq./ft. is. I have a very big potential market right in my backyard and I want to get this right from the, "get go".I also have the luxury of going back to the job later instead of waiting for the concrete to completely dry, so I won't have to use blowers. And 1 last question for now. I see in a number of before and after pics that the area treated has dark blotches where the rust or battery acid was. Is this because the picture was taken before the concrete completely dried?, like in the pic Red posted on the thread below this. Or is this the consequences of the rust and acid stained concrete? And there is nothing you can do about that? Oh and 1` last, last question. Can I email you my proof of purchase instead of fax? I never heard of a fax machine! Lol.

Hi Ralph,

Depending on your area, how porous the concrete is and how deep the stains run will determine how much product you will need. Most F9 Applicators charge between $.50 to $2.00 with an average being around $1.00 per square foot. This monetary figure includes the whole restoration, from your degreaser, steam cleaning, oil spot removal (if necessary), the application(s) of F9 and the rest of the restoration process.

I will tell you especially in the beginning to do the whole driveway. F9 will brighten the concrete as it dries so it just makes sense to do the whole thing if possible. There are some instances where your customer might demand to do just a smaller area due to cost but you will need to make sure they understand that there will be a difference in color. It would be like washing just 1/2 of your car or truck. Also, if you do "spot spray" you will want to fan out the material and follow the process to make it blend better. Never just put a bunch of product on a small area.

F9 is a super concentrate so it must be diluted from 1:2 to 2:1, water to F9. At a minimum and for tougher jobs (battery acid burn and fertilizer rust stains) you should use the 1 part water to 2 parts F9 dilution, so a gallon of F9 will make 1.5 gallons of cleaner for the toughest work, and 3 gallons of cleaner for typical everyday restoration.

You must spray at a rate of 400-800' per gallon and your coverages will vary. For the worst case scenario, you will be able to get a minimum of 250' of concrete fully restored using a double application of product with 1 gallon.

In the pictures if you see dark areas is is because the concrete is still wet. F9 actually helps to even out color imbalances in the concrete as well. So, if your customer has damaged the concrete using an off-the-shelf cleaner with oxalic or hydrochloric acid, when you use the F9 process and cleaner you can help even out some of the damage, restore color and help with the differences in the color to make it a bit more uniform.
