Wooden Porch Flooring

I pressure washed a house today and they had a nice wrap around porch with wood flooring. When I got done with all the vinyl they asked if I could do the wood deck flooring around the porch as well. I have been washing for 4 years but always shyed away from wood, it just seemed like to much trouble. I decided to do theirs though, I got good penetration and didnt damage it. I knew how to do it just from reading etc....when I got done I recommended some wood brightener on there to bring the pH levels back to normal and make it look new again....and then I would water seal it. So...I was wondering what the best brand of wood brightener was or what should I put on it before I seal it? they didnt mention staining it or anything....anything Lowes or Home Depot sell that would be of any count?

Thanks,
Chad

Do you use oxalic acid for brightening concrete? If you don't use it and want to buy local check Lowes for Wolmans brightener it might be your best bet.

What sealer are you going to use?

I do not use it for concrete, I use SH and degreaser for concrete. I am going to use a Thompson brand sealer....thats what the home owner wants, but I need to pick a brightener. I think I found a good starting point. I will give it a try and see what happens, thanks!

I would not waste $ on Thompson water sealer wasting $ for sure!

I haven't yet, but that wasn't my point. Chad asked about "wood" brighteners and you responded asking about "concrete" brightener (OA). Is there some connection?

Well since he was a pressure washer/gutter cleaner company. I thought he might use Oxalic on some concrete where he might need to remove rust stains?
