We have two magazines in the pressure washing Industry, over the Years we have had multiple Magazines Fail.

Why do they fail?

ViewerShip to me would be the number one reason. In to market Clicks matter, if I'm a advertiser in a mag i want it to have clicks.

Content to said industry mags come from us 75% and others in related fields.

WHo do you read?

I read Cleaner Times by Allison. I didn't know E-Clean existed. I guess I'm a little behind on the times or I just can't remember. I think these these 16 hour days, 6 days a week is starting to get to me a bit.

I read E-Clean, Cleaner Times and the PWI boards regularly. E-Clean maintains a good events summary and has the best articles for us contractors. I try to visit PWI three or four evenings a week just to keep up with what is going on.

I have a subscription to the Cleaner Times but not sure if I will subscribe again.

There is a lot of info about executives and business people from companies I have never heard of, all kinds of CETA stuff, a whole lot of articles about things that are not really about pressure cleaning in my opinion, usually a whole lot of fluff and filler.

I don't know who those people are they are writing about.

I don't know what company that is that is having a retirement party for someone.

I don't know who that writer is, have they ever pressure washed before, done windows, cleaned buildings?

There is just a whole lot of stuff that I don't know who they are, who they are writing about and who those companies are.

I really think if it is possible to get a magazine for the pressure cleaning industry but without outside influences, none of the politics, none of the vendor sponsored articles talking about their company, none of the vendor sponsored agendas, etc...... It should be about pressure cleaning and nobody pulling the strings in the background to manipulate the magazine or an org that is owning it without people knowing it or articles based on lies and mis-information.

I think that there are enough contractors out there that can provide info for articles or even write them and have someone go over them to make sure they are ready to be put into the magazine but without changing the article. It would not take many contractors to provide content for the magazine but it would have to be consistent so there is always content for the magazine.

I have mentioned that I am not a writer but would write some articles (would need a lot of editing) for the magazine to help out when I have time.

There could be articles about every aspect of this industry from House Washing to Truck Washing to Roof Cleaning to Concrete Cleaning to Vent Hood Cleaning, etc....

This is a great time to start a magazine to help this industry in many different ways.

If I had to guess at a number of companies that are on these forums vs. the number of companies that are not here, don't know they exist or don't care/don't want to spend their time on the forums, I think that the people on the forums are not even 10% of all the companies in the USA, probably not even 5% if I had to guess.

With a magazine, some of those companies might be interested in an industry publication that can actually have information that will be usefull to their businesses, not a lot of fluff and filler like a lot of other industry type magazines have.

I don't have any idea what this would cost to print but with the online printing companies out there and prices always getting less expensive, maybe this can be done affordably.

Vendors can advertise and promote their products like in all the other magazines, subscriptions can help pay for some of the costs but the articles might help the contractors' credibility in things they talk to their customers about, especially if they write articles that are put into the magazine.

I am not sure how the magazine works, all the ins and outs but I think it can be a great thing for our industry.

Knowing who you are, this is a good Point. We gave Allison a very Popular platform to start her Magazine. The most Popular in the industry, perhaps we helped with assumptions we would receive return awareness.

SInce she has Met us she failed one Mag because she by herself had no real follow through with content.

We got sold on this New version it would be different and deadline Met. She has done a great Job and the Mag is a great Platform.

Its Clear the UAMCC / PWI and the Heart beat of this industry will have to get awareness out by itself.

Will see in the coming issues if anything Changes?

I like the idea of a UAMCC Mag Publication. Contractors writing about their specific type of work, problems they encounter with the solutions they came up with for that problem. Ins and outs to their work. There are a lot of topics to write about and maybe the Mag could start out monthly or even bi-monthly depending on amount of content. We have a lot of veterans in the UAMCC. If they were to get involved with this type of project I think it would be successful because the UAMCC is successful. Like Chris Chappell, I might be able to write about some things I have encountered since becoming a cleaner in the industry but not being a writer or very articulate with words, some editing would have to be done I'm sure. Tony S has it going on when putting "Life" into words. A very articulate and well educated man. The way he does this is very impressive to me. Hey some people have it, some don't. I don't! At any rate I think a UAMCC Mag would be very successful. Just my 2 cents.

A UAMCC mag could be good since the org is unique in that we have contractors from many industries to do articles on. I think eClean could have done this but special interests seem to be ruining it's value. I'm betting our awesome associates would appreciate the opportunity to get a fair chance at advertising that isn't available elsewhere.

Tony please be respectful towards Allison, we have supported her. I think her next steps will determine if what your suggesting is true or not. She has always said she wants to be fair in her reporting.

I would still support her and E-clean if she keeps true to what she says.

I mean she has stated we are the largest amount of traffic she has, so wouldn't you want to support back?

So lets Please not be suggesting she is not at this point. Thanks

E-clean is our industry Magazine, the readers demographics come from Various Places. I watch site traffic and trends, mining Data is what I have done for 30 years with my own business. CLICKS in E-cleans Case Mean $$$$$$$$$

Advertisers do not get Clicks, then they pull out there ads. Its worthless to be on a site that has no traffic, no matter how good SEO is.....

I know some of you get the traffic and SEO mixed up.

Today E-clean is on a Downward Pattern, will monitor it over the next month.

Bounce Rate is actually OK....... User are Traveling to Advertisers when leaving.

Not sure if I am following, but I find the magazine to be good. I like it, I see the power wash store and south side equipment on there advertising. I like the issue with the cleaning of historical brick buildings. that's exactly what I would love to learn.

I didn't see it as disrespectful Ron. I made the statement that it seemed to be the case. If it turns out not to be the case as it seems then I'll happily apologize.

Some can say this is a Huge Loss because there viewership is Horrible, Wait the are a actually print publication. So Circulation is a factor, whats funny is that more people do not get magazine and come to the site for additional Stories and Info.

Interesting will track this over the next Months
