Cleaning Driveways?

Saw a pressure washer cleaning a driveway from the bottom and working towards the house. He seemed like a older gent and was wondering if that was the right way? Did a good job when he was finished no excess dirt or water by the street. Anna

I sometimes will work form bottom to top and then rinse towards the street. If my rig is at the curb, it makes it easier to keep from fighting the hose - working away fom the reel rather than towards it. It also is easier to keep a hot hose off of the lawn.

I always remove the excess dirt that collects at the curb (usually put it under the mulch) as well as sweeping from the customer's drive to the sewer so that I don't leave mud in front of the neighbors' drives.

Driveways

Thanks John.... Most of these driveways pitch towards the street. Guess He could see what he was cleaning since it was dry. Seemed like he cleaned it pretty fast with that procedure. He was using a portable so he had a choice. In Florida the heat dries driveways fast. There are no sewers to sweep the water into so less water is better. Anna

Florida Driveways

Try using a sludge pump and long hose to remove the water and dirt from the swails in FL. Works great and costs around $100 or so. You will make a lot of customers very happy and save you hours in moving water and dirt. Jim
