We need to seperate a forum

I am sorry but fleetwashing and heavy equipment are different all together and need to be separated. One has lots of grease and oil, the other is about removing road dirt. One you charge by the hour typically, the other its by the unit most times.

My suggestion for the title

Heavy Equipment, anything covered in grease, oil, or heavy mud.

All three of these as examples are not really considered a fleet. I know other people here get things like these come their way as the first 2 pics people had tried to clean before I got the call. This part of the industry is probably not the easiest or one that you will come out with a clean shirt when you are done. Although when you can display to the people who you are cleaning for that you know what you are doing and can do it in a timely fashion they will call you back for every piece after.

On another note, if anybody has to give a quote on a Vamas snow clearing machine (Third pic) send me a message as there are somethings you should know that will greatly affect how long they take.

This does not sound like a bad idea.

Marine washing as well

I have been wondering what's involved in boat washing. Now that I'm living in a town right on the beach, it seems like something that would be good to get into.

I did a pontoon boat yesterday that was nasty. I didn't think anything about before and afters because we were just cleaning it up to sell.

While I wash washing it, I was wondering if Chris' wheel washing method would work on the pontoons.

If it is aluminum, a good safe brightener will make the aluminum look great but the mirror polish is probably gone but it will look a lot better.

You don't need anything with HF in it, just a good brightener.

With the aluminum looking great, you will get more money for it.

If you wanted to hand polish it out back to a mirror, even more money.

I've used oxalic brushed on with good results on polished aluminum boats. I'm sure other aluminum brighteners might work better but I don't mess with them.

Heavy equipment, planes, trains, anything that you quote by the hour and leave way dirtier then when you showed up. I don't mind if the forum is shared, I don't see there being enough to justify a separate forum for each.

I would have no problems playing a role in any way in this forum, ie a moderation part or whatever.

You want to staff the forum?

I think a sub-forum is a great idea for this too!

Lot sweeping is contract cleaning. I'm really not a roof or window person, I like staying on the ground... I'd be curious to check that out as a branch-off.

Extremely low profit margins compared power washing. But if you're serious about getting into it I'll be more than happy to help you I've only been doing it now for a little over year

We'll see what the spring brings!

Heavy equipment having low profit margins, I beg to differ about that.

Ron I figure keeping tabs on this forum is me helping others to not make some of the mistakes I did.

Post 15 is about lot sweeping
