Diesel Spill on Asphalt

Old diesel fuel spilled out of 55 gal drum onto an asphalt lot located at at commercial site. Someone tried to steal the 55 gal drum and the drum split into 2, spilling the old diesel and rust from the drum onto the asphalt. Spill was left there for a very long time. Tenant is moving so they needed to have this area cleaned. Came out great IMO and the client was more than pleased.

The last pic is the final. What you are seeing is a contrast between the clean asphalt (what we washed) and the dirty asphalpt (rest of the lot). Still a little wet but after it completely dried there was still a faint shadow left.

Those that do asphalt or at least try know that this is tricky at best.

Was it 100% ....not at all but it is certainly a good step in the right direction relating to this type of cleaning i.a asphalt stains. Also, first time I dealt with a 55 gal. spill like this in a concentrated area. On a scale of 1-10 I would give it a strong 7 but again I'm bias LOL.

Looks good from here. That's one of the toughest stains I've come across is oil based staining on an oil-based product (asphalt). Not a whole lot you can do.
