Any Ideas on Stopping Bodies of Trucks From Rusting

Im having some problems with some of the trucks and vans we have starting to rust through in different areas. I have a couple that we have applied Line X too when new , some have rubber mats, I have even siliconed floors to make them as dry underneath as possible yet the rust still finds its way. Just wondering what everyone else has done to help prevent it from happening?

Down here in South Texas we are on the Gulf of Mexico and vehicles rust after so many years unless kept inside garages, hardly driven by the water, not much contact with the elements, etc....

I have seen about 10 trucks that were totally rhino-lined on the exterior of the truck, covering up all the painted surfaces with the bedliner material. I am guessing that they did this so the truck would not rust when going mudding all the time as most of these trucks had the lift kits, huge tires, extra shocks, etc....

Maybe bedliner sprayed underneath the truck when bought, maybe that will help some.

Its a losing battle but my only advice (which I don't even put into practice cause I'm lazy) is to keep the trucks clean and do a monthly inspection, always touch up rock chips, and plan to spot sand, prime and paint every year. I keep a tiny spray can of my vehicle paint on hand and some rustoleum rusty metal primer. If you use bleach you can also use PM for Bleach or Bleach Wash to neutralize the truck bed. I've done this from time to time and all my stuff is rusty so I can't promise its a game changer.

I live in Arizona. I can see a twenty year old car that looks brand new, every time I go for a drive.

Only way to prevent it IMO, is to use trailers. Replace a trailer every 3-5 years instead of a truck.

Or never use bleach.

Unfortunately it's just nature of the beast
