What Type of Clothing do we use Pressure washing, boots, pants, shirts

I'm sure y'all will be seeing a lot of me with many questions!

What type of footwear do people use while pressure washing? I have always just worn my workboots, but that makes for soggy, and often filthy, feet after an hour or so...Not a good situation if I am going from job to job, and I'm sure not good on my feet nor my boots.

Is there any type of clothing in use that keeps you dry, like an apron? We used to use a heavy rubberized apron when I was a meatcutter, especially when cleaning the market for the day, but I can't imagine wearing something like that in 95 degree weather...

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Us "northern dudes " wear the good ole Mickey mouse boots in the winter time ..... ya just cant beat 'em

I have been wearing a pair of Wolverine boots (with Gortex) for the last six months and have found them to work the best for me. Washing houses with a X-Jet on a 7' wand keeps me dry for the most part. Use a 3' wand with a reg. tip and you will get wet for sure. In the winter a pair of insulated Carhartt bibs will keep you dry, at least they do for me.

I use knee high rubber boots that I get for about $15. I add a Dr. Scholls cushioned arch support inside for comfort. I tuck my work pants into the boots, and my feet stay completely dry.

I also use the cushioned sole inserts in all my work shoes, and they reduce some of the shock and strain on my feet. I've tried most of them, seeking something to keep my feet happy.

The Wolverines would seem to be more suitable for applications where there isn't a lot of water.

Carhartt bib style work pants under a rainsuit from HD or Lowes will keep you warm and dry. I also wear a quilt lined flannel shirt, and stay pretty toasty and dry. Last week I cleaned a 5 store strip, starting at 7:30am, as soon as it got light out. It was 35 degrees, and I stayed very comfortable. Thermal liners can also be supplemented if it's colder.

Now if it's 95 degrees, I would decide what to wear based on what I was cleaning, usually regular work pants and a short sleeved shirt, or for jobs with stronger chems I'll wear a long sleeved work shirt. I don't like wearing rubber suits, so instead I'll get wet if needed, or wear disposble Tyvek jump suits, and then change clothes inside my trailer. I carry 2-3 sets of work clothes (including socks) in my truck all the time.

One thing I have learned no matter what type of shoe or boot you wear is to buy them a half size bigger and put your sneaker (tennis shoe) insert in them, I used to stand for more than 15 hours a day in dress shoes with my sneaker inserts in them and my feet felt great all day. I love them in my work boots.

Pretty much. But I have noticed the last 5-10 pairs I have bought have had insoles that removed very easliy, they weren't glued or anything, just slid right out. Any time I throw a pair away, I keep the insoles. I think 1000 times better than anything you can buy like dr.scholls or anything like that. If you have an old pair, try it, you will not believe the comfort.

I wear Rocky shoes and boots, they are guaranteed to keep your feet dry. They are rugged durability and lightweight strenght, alot of hunters and hikers wear them.Easy on the feet.Thinsulate ultra insulation,Gore-Tex,Type II suspension matrix footbed for support and cushioning,1000 denier cordura nylon with upper leather trim, cost 130/150.Rain grear is also lightweight nylon with mest lineing which can be washed and dried when dirty.

Rocky or Wolverine with the gortex liners are both excellent choices. I will say ive worn both but the Rocky seems to stand up to more abuse for me. For 150.00 a pair I will wear the same boots for 1 1/2 - 2 years before replacing. Waterproof up to 7" deep all day long and keep the feet warm in the coldest, dampest weather. I like the feeling of working all day long no matter the weather and my socks look the same as when I put them on in the morning. No muddy, wet, cold feet for me..........ROCKY BOOTS!!!

LaCrosse makes a mid top rubber boot that slides on over your boots or shoes. only $15 a pair. you can't get anymore reasonable than that. I just wear water proof Herman Survivors from walmart. they only stay water proof for a few months but at $40 a pair i can afford a new pair every few months. I also keep two pair in constant rotation from day to day to let one pair dry out for a day after a days use. I,v tried all of the high priced boots and they didn't do much better than the walmart boots.

Bologna chuck,I've tried Wolverine,Red Wings and the wally world rocky want-a-be's.You couldn't run fast enough to give me a pair of those want-a-be's,most tiresome boot I've ever wore and counting wetfeet. The Wolvenine would be my next pick, the Red wings do not have the comfort as the Rocky's or Wolverine,I'm with Mike, they are worth their money,I buy a pair every year or I can go 1 1/2 years if funds are short.....o I do not have to let mine dryout b/c they not wet, they waterprooooof :D ;)

Ok guys, I wear tennis shoes and pretty much stay dry but yes I do at times get soaked.

Now do tell where or who carries those Rocky boots you all speak so highly of?

Guess I will go to their web page and check them out for myself.

Now a question for all of you, if these boots are for winter what type do you wear during the hot summer to keep dry but not sweat inside?

Jon

tennis shoes and your feet stay dry? no wait, you can walk on water huh.

Our farm supply handles them but alot of times I buy mine at Pro Bass hunting and fishing stores.

hows the inplant doing,feeling ok

Jon:

I wear Wolverines now, but not the waterproof variety...paid about $90.00 for them, and they are very comfortable. I wear them year-round, even in 95+ degree 100% humidity Florida weather in August, and don't have a problem. I don't know if the waterproof variety would prove to be hotter or not. I have even considered buying some spray on canvas waterproofing like you'd buy for a boat, but haven't tried it yet.
