I Order a 12" SC, But What I Got Is A Helicopter

Bought a 12" Steel Eagle for cleaning steps/small areas. It arrived yesterday. Tried it out today and all it wants to do is fly high. Went straight back into the truck.

How are you guys weighting these down?

12" is tiny. I thought they were for cleaning walls. I dont know what machine you have but it may be because it is.....

Try putting a 90 degree elbow on it- that may help some.

I know some people put 5 -10lb weights directly over the swivel of BE Whirlaways to help keep them from flying. Believe these are 17-19" though so not sure if that would be enough weight for a 12" depending on the flow/PSI you are pushing out of it.

I have two 20" Whirlaways and the don't fly. But they have three swivel bars.

Chris, that'd help or cure it, but I want to maintain full pressure. So I'm going to figure out a way to weight it down.

I use 20" BE with 4-5 gpm machines. 28" BigGuy with 8 gpm. Weights may be your only choice.

We turn the throttle down on the engine about half throttle or change tips.

I agree with both Gene and James. You could pressure down and or change tips. Try to throttle down before changing tips.

Turning the engine speed actually works the engine harder, also if the unit has a burner it will affect it. engines were designed to run at full speed.

My 20" was taking off also. The 90 helped a lot but it was still lifting the back end. I ended up putting 5 lbs on the rear.

Putting a 90 will reduce pressure right? Why not just use different nozzles?

If I had that much pressure and flow, I would switch to a 3 arm spray bar.
